GENERAL SUMMARY
Performs journey level work in various construction trades, including carpentry, painting, concrete work, interior and exterior construction, layout, fabrication, and construction of cabinets, counters, fixtures, plumbing, and HVAC.
CORE SCOPE OF POSITION
- Installs and maintains all type of floorings not limited to carpets, ceramic/floor titles, sound proofing, linoleum, decking, and similar parts.
- Performs repairs to carpets and tiles as needed.
- Builds or repairs cabinets, doors, frameworks, floors and other wooden fixtures used in buildings.
- Finish surfaces of woodwork or wallboard in houses and buildings.
- Fills cracks and other defects in plaster or plasterboard and sand patch.
- Maintains and repairs base cabinets, wall cabinets, and countertop
- Utilizes proper joinery methods (i.e., dove, tails, rabbets, blind rabbets, glue joints, lap joints, tongue and groove, drawer joints, mortise, tenon, mitered compound, mitered joints, framing joints, hanging and shutter joints).
- Maintains and performs necessary repairs to stucco, drywall, plaster, tile sidewalks, stairs and similar structures.
- Sets the forms material that holds concrete and pours (footer, stem, slab or monolithic) screens.
- Uses concrete vibrator, jitterbugs, floats, and trowels to compact concrete.
- Demonstrates proper use of various power tools including ski saw, routers, drill, planers, nail gun, ramset, and floor sanders.
- Operates forklift, scissor lift, boom lift and other machines necessary to perform job duties.
- Understands and follows safety guidelines and operating procedures when handling and returning tools and equipment.
- Inspects ceiling or floor tile, wall coverings, siding, glass, or woodwork to detect broken or damaged structures.
- Inspects equipment for proper functioning.
- Provides recommendations for repairs to supervisor.
- Assists with estimating, material takeoffs, project specifications, and maintaining files of specifications, blueprints, and diagrams generated from field investigation.
- Assists with updating as-built drawings.
· Maintains knowledge of and effectively promotes company services and players’ club program.
· Responsible for preventative maintenance to HVAC systems, including cleaning ducts and vents, washing coils, and changing filters.
- Responsible for making repairs on all types of interior finishes; matching the paint colors and finishes of walls, ceilings and floors. Inspects, maintains, and performs repairs to interior and exterior of facilities.
- Completes the preparation for finishing surfaces with putty or other filler material and applies primers, sealers and proper finish products with brush, roller, airless and conventional spraying in the following instances:
- Prepares interior wall and ceiling surfaces which may be constructed of sheetrock (plasterboard, plywood, insulation board, Masonite, concrete or lath and plaster).
- Prepares exterior wall surfaces, door and window frames, which may be constructed of wood, stucco, concrete or metal, by wire brushing, scraping, sanding or washing with detergent and rinsing with tap water. Preconditions wood, steel, aluminum or Masonite interior or exterior doors.
· Assembles, installs, and repairs pipes, fittings, and fixtures of heating, water and drainage systems, according to specifications and plumbing code.
- Uses hand and power tools to cut openings in walls and floors to accommodate pipe and pipe fittings.
- Uses pipe cutters, torches, and pipe threading machine to cut and thread pipe.
- Bends pipe to required angle by use of pipe-bending machine or by placing pipe over block and bending it by hand.
- Assembles and installs valves, pipe fittings, and pipes composed of metals (such as iron, steel and brass) and nonmetals (such as glass, vitrified clay, and plastic) using hand and power tools.
- Joints pipes by use of screws, bolts, fittings, solder, plastic solvent and caulking on certain joints.
- Removes, installs and repairs plumbing fixtures, including sinks, commodes, bathtubs, water heaters, hot water tanks, garbage disposal units, dishwashers, and water softeners.
- Repairs and maintains plumbing by replacing washers in leaky faucets, mending failed pipe or fittings, and opening clogged drains.
· Attends all scheduled team member meetings and trainings.
· Adheres to all company and department policies, procedures, and standard operating guidelines.
· Adheres to all hygiene and safety standards. Ensures that a clean, safe, hazard-free work environment is maintained.
- Performs duties as assigned which may include, cleaning restrooms, emptying trash cans, power washing, handling cleaning chemicals, and cleaning up blood borne pathogen spills.

Required Skills
** KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS**
- Journey level skill in construction, maintenance, and repair procedures, including preventative maintenance, breakdown repair and trouble-shooting, installation and fabrication techniques.
- Knowledge of proper use and maintenance of hand and power tools.
- Knowledge of building codes, rules, and regulations.
- Good verbal and interpersonal communication skills.
- Strong demonstrated ability to read and interpret blueprints and system diagrams.
- Strong organizational skills with exceptional ability to manage multiple projects.

Required Experience
** EDUCATION/CERTIFICATION**
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Completion of an apprenticeship program by an accredited education facility preferred.
- Must be 18 years or older.
- Valid California driver’s license required.
EXPERIENCE
- 5 or more years of related experience and/or training.
