    Job Description

    The Chief of Staff (COS) will report to the President - MedVet, who leads the Medical and Veterinary vertical comprising of two medical schools and one veterinary school in the Caribbean. The COS will drive strategic initiatives and special projects to advance organizational priorities. The role involves collaboration with the President's direct reports and other senior leaders to track progress, ensure execution, and provide regular updates on strategic timelines.

    This strategic and facilitative role requires focus, flexibility, and the ability to lead and support multiple initiatives. The COS must be resourceful and have strong emotional intelligence, self-motivation, project management expertise, and analytical skills.

    The ideal candidate will possess experience in strategy, finance, analysis, and project management, providing thought partnership to the President. Exceptional problem-solving abilities, strong communication skills (written and verbal), and a talent for relationship-building with diverse stakeholders are essential. Proven leadership in managing teams and delivering successful outcomes is required. Alignment with the organization's values and l mission is critical.

    • Represents the President in internal and external meetings.
    • Attends meetings with and on behalf of the President, as requested—briefs the President on key issues, challenges, and decisions made at meetings.
    • Supports the President in cultivating relationships with strategic partners and other stakeholders.
    • Sets agenda (with the President's direction and input from direct reports) for the executive team and board meetings.
    • Prepares President Updates for quarterly Board meetings.
    • Shadows the President in major meetings and events, owning the agenda and the pre-and post-interactions to ensure successful outcomes. Anticipates and manages the materials, data, and presentation needs for upcoming meetings and events.
    • Anticipates and manages materials, data, and presentations needed for meetings and events. Refine and (where required) develop comprehensive dashboards to track performance against PY and targets. Train/coach team on how to use data and dashboards to derive insights and drive improvement.
    • Working collaboratively with the communications team to review key internal and external communications.
    • Coordinates future inorganic opportunities
    • Review documents prepared for the President and facilitate more efficient reviews and approval processes.
    • Participates in identifying, designing, developing, and implementing assigned projects.
    • Liaise with all vertical and home office partners to ensure all unique/critical projects are completed on time and with excellence across all operational facets (Legal, Human Resources, Finance, IT, etc.)
    • Understands business requirements, determines priorities with multiple stakeholders, and drives supporting needs for these projects.
    • In partnership with the Chief Growth Officer, investigate potential partnership opportunities for MEDVET institutions, facilitate introductions to contacts, and follow up on outcomes as appropriate.
  • Qualifications

    Qualifications

    Education & Experience:

    • Bachelor’s degree required; Master of Business Administration (MBA) strongly preferred.
    • 12+ years of proven project management, business development, and leadership in consulting or client-service environments with a track record of successful project and team management in complex environments.
    • Proven experience successfully working in a matrix environment.
    • Experience supporting and working with C-level executives in a business environment.

    Communication & Influence:

    • Strong written, oral, interpersonal, and presentation skills, including the ability to independently develop C-level presentations.
    • Ability to tailor content and concepts based on audience and create overall communication plans.
    • Ability to build relationships and work with people at all levels of the organization and external partners with different interests and needs.

    Leadership & Problem-Solving:

    • Self-starter who can build and prioritize their work plans.
    • Exceptional reasoning and problem-solving skills with the ability to think ahead and plan over a 1–3-year time span.
    • Strong initiative and a quick learner with strategic thinking and analytical skills.
    • Business acumen and learning agility to ramp up quickly.

    Execution & Work Style:

    • Highly efficient and detail-oriented, with the ability to manage a significant volume of diverse tasks, activities, and projects (both tactical and strategic).

    Additional Information

    _In support of the pay transparency laws enacted across the country, the expected salary range for this position is between $165,000 and $265,000. Actual pay will be adjusted based on job-related factors permitted by law, such as experience and training; geographic location; licensure and certifications; market factors; departmental budgets; and responsibility.
