    Job Description

    Role Purpose

    The VP, Corporate Events will report to the Senior Vice President, NBCU Corporate Events.

    Job Duties

    • Research, develop, manage, and execute special events for all NBCUniversal properties, both nationally and internationally
    • Negotiate contracts pertaining to event accommodations, entertainment venues, activities, transportation, and more
    • Create, ideate, design and install floor plans, décor plans and event branding
    • Manage guest invitation/communication process and travel procurement for each assigned event
    • Own the tracking of event budgets and reconciliation
    • Collaborate with marketing and sales teams to understand their clients’ needs of custom events, promotions, for advertising partners
    • Generate and research new event ideas and opportunities for sales staff and advertising clients
    • Develop contacts and relationships with vendors, including hotels, restaurants, and transportation companies, to secure the best possible rates and opportunities for NBCUniversal
    • Stay ahead of industry trends and emerging technologies to incorporate innovative elements into our events. Be passionate and knowledgeable about venues, restaurants/bars, food and beverage, and travel
    • Work closely with merchandise director to develop ideas for creative and unique premium ideas for each event, as well as ongoing NBCUniversal merchandise
    • Strong communication, presentation and interpersonal skills with demonstrated ability to influence at all levels within the organization
    • Strong people manager, with ability to lead project team across functions
    • Ability to implement best practices and processes; organized with meticulous attention to detail
    • Ability to keep calm and problem solve quickly under high pressure moments
    • Drive all aspects of strategic planning and execution of all events, both domestically and internationally
    • Partner with stakeholders within the business to understand the key business objectives and needs to conceptualize and execute strategic events
  • Qualifications

    Qualifications

    Basic Requirements

    • 15+ years of direct experience in corporate event management and strategy
    • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint, and event management tools (Certain, Splash)

    • Strong leadership and project management skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
    • Extremely solutions and detail-oriented, with strong organizational, multi-tasking, decision-making and problem-solving skills

    • Excellent verbal, presentation, and written communication skills

    Additional Requirements

    • Must be willing to work in New York, NY
    • Willingness to travel at least 40% of the year, and work long hours and weekends

    Hybrid : This position has been designated as hybrid, generally contributing from the office a minimum of three days per week.

    This position is eligible for company sponsored benefits, including medical, dental and vision insurance, 401(k), paid leave, tuition reimbursement, and a variety of other discounts and perks.
