    Jackson Hewitt is seeking a highly skilled Vice President of Application Development to join our team. Reporting directly to the Chief Information Officer, this role is pivotal in managing and enhancing our application development capabilities. The Vice President of Application Development will oversee all proprietary development for Jackson Hewitt, which is mission critical for our revenue-generating activities.

    What You'll Do Here:

    Lead the execution of application development from user stories to deployment.

    Ensure the highest quality standards and system uptime.

    Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance department throughput.

    Oversee the delivery of engineering-level support for escalated issues.

    Oversee engineering operations functions including continuous delivery, DevOps, and Site Reliability Engineering (SRE).

    Work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration and delivery of application solutions measurably impacting results.

    Proactively engage with other VPs across Jackson Hewitt to execute on strategy and establish aligned goals.

    What Skills and Experience You'll Bring for Success:

    Proven track record of delivering and optimizing highly scalable systems.

    Strong leadership skills with a track record of building teams that deliver outcomes.

    Expertise in optimizing systems for highly seasonal businesses.

    Deep understanding of continuous delivery, DevOps, and site reliability engineering.

    Advanced skills in software development and architecture.

    Proven experience in national-level business or franchise operations.

    Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities effectively.

    Tax industry experience preferred.

    10+ years experience in software development and project management leadership with progressively increasing responsibilities.

    Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related field.
