DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:
Determine and execute BRC's overarching communications priorities, with a focus on producing donor-directed communications and media relations. Execute communications strategy across BRC's various platforms. Manage organizational brand and identity, driving internal and external communications efforts in support of achieving the goals of BRC's strategic plan.
Donor & Stakeholder Communications Strategy
- Develop and implement communications/marketing strategies to engage with BRC's donors and supporters, with particular emphasis on creating successful fundraising campaigns (event-based giving, end-of-year giving, etc.)
- Oversee the creation of fundraising campaign materials, including direct mail, email, and other solicitations.
- Monitor, track, and analyze the consistency & effectiveness of communication activities, translating data about audience engagement and participation into data-driven strategies and tactics.
Brand Management
- Act as the primary brand ambassador for BRC, educating and reinforcing BRC's brand and voice across internal and external communications.
- Lead the development and production of all BRC publications and collateral, including program and client testimonials leveraging opportunities to increase brand awareness through meaningful storytelling.
- Collaborate with BRC funders and partners to promote the organization and fundraising campaigns across platforms.
Marketing & Media Relations
- Manage media relations and maximize media opportunities, creating relationships with key funding partners and reporters from esteemed media outlets.
- Develop, pitch, and facilitate the creation of media content that tells the BRC story, including the arrangement of interviews for organizational representatives for various media opportunities.
- Create, track, and archive communication and PR materials (newsletter, brochures, etc.) and photographs, including photo releases, for use across various communications platforms.
- Strategically identify media partners and opportunities for press engagement.
Digital Content Creation & Management
- Oversee the creation and management of targeted content for BRC's website, social media accounts, and video platforms.
- Manage and monitor website content, measuring and evaluating its effectiveness over time. Must be able to use the website building software, Wix, and its accompanying analytics.
- Strengthen and expand the organization's social media presence across platforms, including the use of advertising channels.
Operational Support & Departmental Leadership
- Work with staff across the organization to develop key messaging, stories, and insights that support BRC's internal communications goals.
- Provide support to BRC Chief Executive Officer and Chief Development Officer as directed with follow-up tasks across the spectrum of internal and external project assignments.
HOURS
Full-time, 37.5 hours per week
Monday - Friday; 9:00a - 5:30p
*Vaccination preferred but not required*
QUALIFICATIONS:
- BA Required
- Self-motivated, able to work independently and responsibly, with limited supervision
- Superb writing and editing skills, as well as the ability to translate complex ideas into accessible and engaging prose.
- Proven track record of designing and managing communication strategies.
- Energy, initiative, intellect, flexibility and a team player.
- Exceptional organizational abilities and attention to detail.
- Computer literacy required; excellent database, word-processing, spreadsheet skills.
- Ability to prioritize tasks, and work accurately under the pressure of a deadline-focused job.
- Excellent communication skills; discretion and diplomacy in dealing with the key organizational stakeholders.
