VP of Product for an Innovative Electric Vehicle Charging Company
Our client is changing the electric vehicle charging game with their hardware and software platform. Their cloud platform allows charging station owners to price-set, manage port access, collect energy use data, and more. They are seeking a VP of Product to serve as a leader of both hard and soft product teams, processes, and execution.
This is an in-person role in Los Angeles, CA.
Responsibilities:
- Define and drive the product vision, strategy, and roadmap
- Develop and communicate a compelling product vision and strategy
- Conduct thorough market research and competitive analysis to identify opportunities for product differentiation and growth.
- Leverage insights from market trends and customer feedback to guide product development
- Establish KPIs to measure product success and drive data-informed decision making
- Create and implement day-to-day product road-mapping protocols within the company across both software and hardware
- Champion a user-centric approach to product development
- Recruit, hire, train, develop, and manage product team, including local, domestic remote, and offshore resources
- Lead a talented team of product managers and work closely with engineering, design, marketing, and sales teams to ensure successful product development and launch
- Serve as part of the executive team, providing insight on broader product strategy/roadmap
- Maintain the product roadmap, and clearly communicate goals, roles, responsibilities and desired outcomes throughout the company
- Gather information and lead product design, creative, development, and testing activities
- Prioritize and pursue the highest impact opportunities, using data to inform decisions
Qualifications:
- 10+ years of product team leadership experience – with hardware and software
- Proven experience as a VP of Product or in a senior product management role
- Exposure to the electric vehicle charging ecosystem, a huge plus
- Excellent leadership and team management skills, with a track record of building and leading successful product teams
- Data-driven, analytical mindset
- Ability to manage resources and processes across multiple locations and time zones
- Working knowledge of business/financial planning and budgeting
- Previous experience working with or at leading companies such as Tesla, or other top-tier technology firms, a big plus
- Experience with problem-solving within multi-faceted and complex systems
- Experience negotiating with third-party providers of products and services
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills and working with technical and non-technical teams
- Desire to be part of a fast-growing and dynamic (as well as entrepreneurially minded) team
Compensation: Targeting a base salary of ~$200-300k
