Position Summary:
The Vice President of Solar is responsible for leading and scaling the solar division. This executive role encompasses full oversight of operations, business development, and team performance. The VP will drive strategic initiatives, ensure effective project execution, and enhance the division’s profitability while advancing the company’s long-term vision in renewable energy.
Key Responsibilities:
Strategic Leadership & Growth
- Develop and implement a growth strategy to expand solar services and market share.
- Identify new markets, technologies, and partnerships to strengthen the division.
- Represent the solar division internally and externally as a thought leader and strategic partner.
Business Development & Sales
- Lead revenue generation efforts through strategic sales planning and relationship development.
- Oversee proposals, pricing, and negotiations to secure profitable solar projects.
- Work closely with the business development and estimating teams to build a strong project pipeline.
Operations & Project Execution
- Ensure solar projects are delivered safely on time, within budget, and to quality standards.
- Drive operational excellence by implementing scalable systems, tools, and processes.
- Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and field teams to remove roadblocks and maximize performance.
Financial Management & Profitability
- Own the division’s P&L and drive financial performance and accountability.
- Optimize margins through cost controls, vendor management, and effective resource deployment.
- Regularly monitor financial metrics to ensure alignment with company goals.
Team Leadership & Development
- Build and lead a high-performing solar team focused on execution and continuous improvement.
- Mentor emerging leaders and create a strong leadership pipeline within the division.
- Promote a culture of safety, innovation, ownership, and growth.
Qualifications:
- Deep understanding of the solar industry, from sales through project completion.
- Proven success in business development, project delivery, and operational leadership.
- Strong financial acumen with experience managing division-level P&L.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and strategic decision-making skills.
