    Job Title: Heat Treat Operator

    Job Summary: A dynamic position for a skilled Heat Treat Operator to join an industry-leading team. This role involves operating vacuum furnaces, mixing and applying braze alloy, and ensuring high-quality standards for aerospace parts. The ideal candidate will possess strong attention to detail, technical proficiency, and the ability to work independently and collaboratively.

    Duties and Responsibilities:

    • Operate vacuum furnaces, including freezer and quench tank operations.
    • Mix and apply braze alloy on parts and components.
    • Verify equipment calibration and tooling to ensure parts meet specifications.
    • Perform visual inspections on braze joints before and after heat treatment.
    • Conduct Rockwell inspections on parts or test samples.
    • Complete necessary paperwork for work instructions and job functions.
    • Prepare parts for heat treatment, ensuring cleanliness and proper stacking.
    • Monitor metal color and instruments (voltmeter, ammeter, wattmeter, pyrometer) to maintain specified temperatures.
    • Record data from each run and perform preventative maintenance as per schedule.
    • Apply braze parts according to aerospace standards and keep the work area clean.

    Qualifications:

    • High school diploma or GED.
    • 3+ years of experience
    • Ability to learn programming for computer controls.
    • Manual dexterity for handling small parts and measuring equipment.
    • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
    • Understanding of AHT and VHT processes and procedures.
    • Basic computer skills.
    • Ability to read and understand work order instructions and station plans.

    Experience and Training:

    • Basic skills in vacuum heat treat, aluminum heat treat, slurry, and braze. Certifications in Rockwell, Conductivity, TYS, and Hotwork preferred.

    Physical Demands:

    • Regularly required to talk, hear, sit, use hands, reach with arms, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
    • Occasionally exposed to fumes, airborne particles, and chemicals.
    • Moderate noise level.
    • Frequently lift or move up to 50 lbs.
    • Close vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus required.
    • Ability to drive and operate a forklift.
