Job Summary

We are seeking an Experienced Veterinary Assistant to join our team! As a veterinary assistant, you will spend your days tending to the animals under our care, including assisting doctors, providing routine animal care, proper restraint, cleaning and disinfecting kennels and rooms, sterilizing surgical instruments, vaccine administration, monitor and care for animals after surgery. You will also be responsible for ensuring the environment is clean and safe for all the animals. The ideal candidate is comfortable working with all types of animals, can work on their feet for long periods of time, and can work well in a team environment.

Responsibilities

Assisting doctors whenever necessary

Clean and maintain pet enclosures so that every animal under your care has a safe, healthy living environment

Proper animal restraint

Interact with the animals, providing a positive human experience

Maintain proper records of all animals and care given throughout your shift

Vaccination administration

Patient recovery

Sterilizing surgical instruments

Qualifications

Must be comfortable working with animals of all sizes and types

Must be comfortable working on your feet for long periods of time

Familiarity with basic computer programs.

Preferred 1 year experience

Med Clerk license
