This position works from the Newton Corporate Office and reports to the Corporate Accountant.POSITION SUMMARY:The Accounting Intern will be assisting in multiple areas of the Finance and Accounting department. This role will have responsibilities in cash deposits, account reconciliation, accounts payable and other accounting functions. The intern will also assist in keeping the department organized through filing and managing documentation. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:Reconciling cash deposits in bank accounts to cash sales from the POS system dailyPosting bank transactions dailyCommunicating cash discrepancies to operations and finance managementPosting vendor invoicesFiling accounting documents and retrieving documentation as neededAssisting finance team members in daily operations and special projects as neededQUALIFICATIONS/COMPETENCIES:Pursuing Bachelor's degree with a Finance or Accounting concentration2.7 GPA or higherExperience with MS ExcelHigh attention to detail and the ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced work environmentHigh level of efficiency, accuracy and responsibilityExcellent organization and time management skillsProblem solving and analytical skillsENVIRONMENT & PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTSJob operates in a clerical office setting.
