Job Description:
Zoom Elite Transportation LLC is looking for responsible, dependable Van Drivers to join our team for school transportation routes. This is a great opportunity for those who enjoy working with children and have a commitment to safety. The hours for this position vary between 6:00 AM to 5:00 PM, making it ideal for those seeking flexible part-time or full-time work. As a Van Driver, you will safely transport students to and from school, ensuring a positive and secure experience for all passengers.
Key Responsibilities:
Safely operate a company van, following all traffic laws and safety procedures.
Transport students to and from school, adhering to the designated route and schedule.
Ensure students’ safety by assisting with boarding and disembarking the vehicle, helping with seatbelts when necessary.
Maintain a professional, courteous, and friendly attitude when interacting with students, parents, and school staff.
Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle to ensure it’s in safe working condition.
Communicate effectively with school personnel, parents, and dispatch regarding any delays, route changes, or issues.
Report any incidents, accidents, or vehicle maintenance needs in a timely manner.
Qualifications:
Age: 21 years or older.
Driver’s License: Possess a valid, properly classified Illinois driver’s license or a valid license from Indiana, Michigan, Wisconsin, Iowa, Missouri, or Kentucky, with an “S” endorsement.
Experience: Must have held a valid driver’s license for at least three years, with no revocations, suspensions, cancellations, or disqualifications.
Testing:
Pass the Illinois written school bus driver permit test.
Pass a behind-the-wheel exam in the type of vehicle you will be driving.
Pass a physical examination, including drug and tuberculosis testing.
Background Checks:
Pass an Illinois-specific and FBI criminal background check.
Not have been convicted of serious traffic violations, reckless driving, DUI, or reckless homicide within the past three years.
Not have caused a fatal accident as a result of unlawful vehicle operation.
Other Requirements:
Affirm under penalty of perjury that no false statements or material concealment have been made in the application process.
Complete an initial classroom training course, with a refresher course required for renewal.
Consent to release of drug and alcohol testing results to the Secretary of State.
Not have been afflicted with any mental disabilities or diseases in the last five years.
