    Job Title: Driver Department: Transportation

    Hours: Part time, approximately 20 hours/wk, general hours (may vary) Monday - Friday 7:30am-9am and 2:30am-5:00pm

    Salary: $21.00/hr

    Job Summary: Provide transportation to and from residences and day programs/job sites for individuals with Developmental disabilities, intellectual disabilities and Autism.

    Supervisory Responsibilities:

    GENERAL STAFF RESPONSIBILITIES

    Be responsible for effective use of agency resources. Support agency fundraising efforts.

    Accountability

    Regular and reliable attendance. Complete assigned training on time. Respond quickly to all client/customer needs and to adjust services and products to accommodate those needs. Measure and assess feedback from clients/customers regarding the quality of agency products and the effectiveness of its services and to help make necessary improvements in those services. Follow all policies and procedures including implementation of the COVID19 Control Plan.

    Duties/Responsibilities:

    • Transport clients safely to and from their destinations.
    • Drive courteously and safely, obeying all traffic rules.
    • Report immediately any traffic accidents, violation citation, or unusual incident involving a client to the Operations coordinator or the Director of Day Habilitation.
    • Clean and maintain the interior and exterior of the vehicle.
    • Ensure that the assigned vehicle complies with all state and agency safety standards.
    • Keep the gas tank in assigned vehicle sufficiently filled and ensure that oil changes are completed on schedule.
    • Bring assigned vehicle to inspection station to keep inspection sticker current.
    • Report any needed repairs or vehicle malfunctions to the Operations Coordinator or the person designated to coordinate repairs.
    • Utilize hands free communication devices while driving including Bluetooth, GPS, and similar.
    • Perform vehicle inspections, quarterly or as assigned, and report any issues to the Operations Coordinator or designee.
    • Attend assigned trainings.
    • Perform other duties, as assigned.

    Required Skills/Abilities:

    • Patience and understanding in dealing with people, families and home supports in a variety of situations.
    • Ability to work cooperatively and effectively in a team.
    • Proficiency in using hands free communication devices including Bluetooth, GPS, etc.
    • Ability to act appropriately under stress and exercise good judgment and common sense.
    • Complete tasks with a minimum of supervision.

    Education, Experience, Licensure:

    High school diploma or equivalent.

    Valid driver’s license.

    Good driving record with no violations in past three years.

    Drug Screen, CORI, SORI and Fingerprint check required.

    Physical Requirements:

    Prolonged periods of sitting, driving vehicle. Occasional walking, standing.

    Must be able to lift up to 30 pounds.
