    Maumee Valley Country Day School is seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated varsity boys’ soccer coach who is passionate about fostering student-athletes’ development both on and off the field. The ideal candidate will be a positive role model, a leader, and a mentor who strives to build a strong and cohesive team environment. A strong coach understands the balance between skill development, competition, and personal growth for the students, preparing them for success in soccer and beyond. Maumee Valley has developed a competitive soccer program that has won the Toledo Area Athletic Conference seven times, and has three district championships. The program has also sent several players on to play collegiate soccer and currently has several college level prospects returning next year.

    Key Responsibilities and Duties:

    Lead and manage the varsity boys’ soccer team, including practices, games, and tournaments.

    Develop and implement effective coaching strategies to enhance individual and team performance.

    Create a positive and inclusive team culture that emphasizes sportsmanship, respect, and discipline.

    Collaborate with athletic staff, school administrators, and other coaches to ensure alignment with school values and athletic goals.

    Communicate effectively with players, parents, and the community regarding team expectations, progress, and scheduling.

    Maintain a safe and organized environment during practices and games.

    Manage team logistics, including equipment, uniforms, and transportation.

    Ensure compliance with all applicable safety and sports regulations.

    Attend and actively engage in personal and professional work in support of the school’s diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives.

    Perform other duties as assigned by the Athletic Director or school administration.

    Skills and Competencies:

    Strong understanding of the sport of soccer, including coaching techniques and strategies.

    Ability to foster team spirit, commitment, and leadership among student-athletes.

    Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively interact with students, parents, and staff.

    Organizational skills to manage team logistics and schedules effectively.

    Demonstrated ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

    Ability to model professionalism and integrity, on and off the field.

    Commitment to the mission and values of Maumee Valley Country Day School.

    Credentials:

    Previous coaching experience, preferably at the high school or collegiate level, is preferred.

    Experience playing soccer at a competitive level is desirable.

    Must be able to obtain an Ohio Department of Education-issued Pupil Activity Permit as required by the Ohio High School Athletic Association.

    A passion for mentoring young athletes and contributing to their personal growth and development.
