    We seek highly skilled and compassionate Vascular Access Nurses (PICC RNs) to join our team in the Southeast Missouri area. This flexible PRN position allows you to work around your schedule while providing specialized vascular access care, including ultrasound-guided PICC line insertions, infusion therapy, and patient education.

    Job Summary

    As a Vascular Access Nurse (PICC RN) in Southeast Missouri, you will be crucial in providing expert vascular access care while maintaining the highest standards of precision, safety, and patient education. This PRN role offers flexibility and autonomy, allowing you to use your expertise in ultrasound-guided catheter placement and infusion therapy while traveling between healthcare facilities and patient locations.

    Key Responsibilities

    Vascular Access Procedures

    Perform the insertion, maintenance, and removal of Peripherally Inserted Central Catheters (PICC lines), Midlines, and Peripheral IVs with precision and adherence to best practices.

    Utilize ultrasound guidance for optimal catheter placement and ensure patient safety.

    Assess, monitor, and maintain vascular access sites to prevent complications.

    Infusion Therapy

    Administer and manage intravenous (IV) therapies, medications, and fluids as prescribed.

    Monitor patients for adverse reactions and complications during infusions.

    Patient Education

    Educate patients and families on the care and maintenance of PICC lines, Midlines, and other vascular access devices.

    Provide infection prevention strategies and self-care instructions to ensure patient safety and compliance.

    Collaboration and Communication

    Work closely with physicians, nurses, and healthcare teams to develop individualized patient care plans.

    Maintain clear and effective communication with healthcare professionals to ensure seamless patient care coordination.

    Documentation & Compliance

    Accurately document patient assessments, procedures, interventions, and outcomes following organizational policies and regulatory requirements.

    Quality Improvement & Professional Development

    Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient outcomes and optimize vascular access procedures.

    Stay current with industry advancements, best practices, and vascular access guidelines.

    Qualifications & Requirements

    Active RN licensure in Missouri (MO)

    Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation required (as this is a mobile position)

    Minimum of 2 years of RN experience, with a focus on vascular access, infusion therapy, or critical care

    Proficient in ultrasound-guided PICC line insertion and vascular access device placement

    Certification in Vascular Access (VA-BC or similar) is highly desirable

    Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required; Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) preferred

    Experience with mobile navigation devices (ultrasound, GPS for travel efficiency) is a plus
