Position Summary
Superintendents need to be the champion of each project. It is your responsibility to ensure projects are built per plans, specs, scopes, and other owner directives. You are the front line for the company's success and successful project outcomes.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Work with municipal inspectors, internal team, and subcontractors to achieve our high standards of quality, communication, and schedule performance on all projects.
- Assist with planning, organizing, and directing all on-site activities concerned with the construction.
- Facilitate investigating damage, accidents, or delays on construction sites to ensure that proper procedures are being met.
- Verify material deliveries and comply with procurement requirements.
- Have weekly meetings with each subcontractor's foreman and review and agree to work activities required to be completed during following week and Client to be provided.
- Assist with ensuring jobsite remains clean and free of construction debris to ensure safe and efficient work environment.
- Ensure OSHA guidelines are being followed.
- Own project punch and closeout to ensure our standards are being met.
- Weekly walks with our operations leader to update them on the project status.
- Scheduling and Calendar Management
- Project schedules to be updated weekly by noon on Friday.
- 2-Week lookaheads to be sent to project teams by noon on Friday
Requirements
- Must be able to make sound judgements on a day-today basis.
- Excellent attention to detail. You need to know the project documents better than anyone.
- Must be well organized.
- Proficient with computer software, such as Procore and estimating platforms.
- Manage the following in Procore:
- Prioritize across multiple tasks.
- Experience on phones and interacting with others in a professional setting.
- Ability to take initiative and solve problems independently.
- Must be punctual, reliable, and stress tolerant.
- Needs to maintain confidentiality.
- Experience estimating from both plans and jobsite.
- Ownership mentality in all work performed.
- Five years of construction experience preferred.
- Ability to follow directions and see things through completion.
- Ability to recognize when you need to ask for help and be willing to do so.
- Other duties as necessary to support the PM/VP.
Cleanliness
- Employee shall keep their work area clean and organized at all times. Clean your work area before leaving each day and when tasks for said area are complete.
- Enforcement of jobsite cleanliness of subcontractors.
Safety
- Work safely and always be aware of your surroundings.
- Inspect tools and cords daily for safety issues.
- Know where the safety manual and supplies are stored.
- Adhere to and enforce company safety program and OSHA standards.
