We have a special focus on treating dogs, cats, small animals, avians, reptiles, wildlife, and many other exotic animals! We see a large number of complicated dog and cat medical cases. We think you’ll enjoy being a part of our team if you are looking to take your veterinary assisting career to the next level and get direct access to work with exotic animals! While previous experience or education in veterinary assisting is appreciated, we happily train the right candidates from the ground up. You just need to bring the needed motivation and enthusiastic attitude! Three important benefits to know: • 1) We are expecting to have a new facility to work in within the next 18 months! • 2) We are implementing a path for the right people to earn their CVT (Certified Veterinary Technician license) while working! • 3) NO Saturdays or Sundays, plus a typical full-time weekday schedule is 4 days on, and 1 day off. Responsibilities: Working alongside a collaborative, small, and quality-focused team you will get to: • Provide care to a wide range of animals not only dogs and cats, but also other animals like exotic animals small mammals, birds, reptiles, and wildlife! • Assist with reviewing vaccination records, preparing vaccines if needed, and administering vaccines according to the vaccine protocol of Gentle Vet Animal Hospital • Maintain and use medical equipment such as autoclaves, surgical instruments, X-rays, blood system analyzers, etc. • Assist with educating the public about diseases that can be spread from animals to humans • Provide compassionate animal care • Provide compassionate and understanding client communication • Follow instructions to complete tasks independently • Many many other duties! Qualifications: • Great communication and customer service skills • Able to use a computer and complete administrative tasks • High school graduate or has GED • Willingness to collaborate • A willingness to learn • A tolerance for constant change and improvement! • Flexibility to adapt to an ever-evolving environment • Motivation to help not only the patients but your coworkers as well Compensation: $13 - $16 hourly
