As a Veterinary Rehabilitation Assistant, you’ll learn cutting-edge techniques, work directly with pets and their families, and grow in a supportive environment where your skills and compassion are valued.
Key Responsibilities
Assist veterinarians and therapists during exams and treatments, including laser therapy, acupuncture, diagnostic and therapeutic ultrasound, shockwave, regenerative medicine procedures, and hydrotherapy sessions, bracing/orthotic/wheelchair fittings, all while using low-stress handling techniques.
Manage patient records and assist with treatment plans.
Communicate with pet owners to gather patient histories and explain treatment programs.
Occasionally assist with diagnostics such as blood draws and radiographs under supervision.
Act as a liaison between the front desk staff and medical team by relaying information and providing assistance.
Fill prescriptions and assist with medication management.
Prepare treatment areas, maintain cleanliness and organization in the clinic, including common areas, exam rooms, and equipment.
Greet clients and communicate effectively and compassionately, gathering information about their pets and addressing any concerns.
Assist front desk team with client services, including incoming calls, new client inquiries, scheduling, and processing payments.
Skills and Qualifications
Required Skills:
At least 1 year of veterinary experience, including patient care and client communication.
Strong computer skills and familiarity with practice management software.
Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
Comfort working with animals of all sizes, breeds, and temperaments.
Willingness to learn new therapies and rehabilitation techniques.
Soft Skills:
Strong attention to detail and ability to multitask.
A positive, team-oriented attitude.
Genuine compassion for animals and people.
Dependable and committed to punctuality and attendance.
Position is full-time with a Monday-Friday schedule - no weekends!
Position Hours Mondays: 11am-7pm Tuesdays: 10am-6pm Wednesdays: 11am-7pm Thursdays: 10am-6pm Fridays: 9am-5pm
