    Job Summary

    We are a one doctor small animal hospital seeking a compassionate Veterinarian Assistant or Technician to join the team at our successful clinic.

    Qualifications:

    Applicants must be 18 years or older and have reliable transportation.

    Pay rate consideration will be based upon the time and experience you have at prior veterinary jobs.

    Previous experience as a Veterinary Assistant or Technician

    Knowledge of animal care and handling

    Excellent communication skills

    Ability to multi-task and remain organized in a busy environment

    Patience and a love for animals

    Previous experience with Avimark veterinary software is a plus.

    Bilingual is a plus.

    Schedule:

    Monday to Friday 7:30 am to 6:00 pm

    10.5 hour shift with a 1 hour lunch break

    Employees have 1 full day off during the week, off on weekends

    Holidays as needed

    Responsibilities:

    Holding and Restraining Patients

    Getting history on Patient

    Entering electronic medical records

    Able to lift 60 lbs.

    Preparing medications and printing drug label

    Radiography

    Running lab work

    Drawing blood

    Placing Catheters

    Assisting the Doctor with surgery

    Monitoring patients under anesthesia

    Dental Cleaning

    Feeding and Medicating patients

    Weekend treatments on hospitalized patients

    Patient Triage

    Wrapping and Sterilizing Surgery packs

    Managing phone lines

    Making appointment reservations

    Creating estimates for clients

    Collecting patient and client information

    Checking in patients and clients

    Discharging patients

    Work patiently with distressed, frustrated or disgruntled clients

    Stocking Supplies

    Laundry

    Basic and extensive cleaning of the hospital
