    About the Role:

    The Critical Care Specialist will provide expert care to critically ill and injured animals. This role requires advanced knowledge and skills in diagnosing and treating complex medical conditions. Responsibilities include:

    • Providing comprehensive critical care to patients in the ICU, including managing respiratory distress, shock, sepsis, and other life-threatening conditions.
    • Performing advanced diagnostic procedures, such as ultrasound, endoscopy, and radiology.
    • Developing and implementing individualized treatment plans.
    • Collaborating with other specialists and referring veterinarians to ensure coordinated patient care.
    • Communicating effectively with clients, providing updates on their pet's condition, and explaining treatment options.
    • Maintaining accurate and detailed medical records.
    • Participating in continuing education and staying up-to-date with the latest advancements in critical care medicine.
    • Mentoring and training veterinary students, interns, and residents. (If applicable)
    • Contributing to research and scholarly activities. (If applicable)

    Qualifications:

    • Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM/VMD) degree.
    • License to practice in the state of Texas
    • Completion of a residency program in Veterinary Emergency and Critical Care.
    • Board certification or eligibility for board certification by the American College of Veterinary Emergency and Critical Care (ACVECC).
    • Strong clinical skills and knowledge of veterinary medicine.
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
    • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and demanding environment.
    • A passion for providing exceptional patient care and client service

    • High-speed CT scanner with cardiac capabilities (full body scan in under 2 minutes)
    • Open to adding mechanical ventilator and defibrillator of your choice
    • Separate ultrasonography equipment for abdominal and cardiac imaging.
    • Fluoroscopy with a minimally invasive surgical suite
    • Dedicated suites for minimally invasive orthopedic, general orthopedic, and soft tissue surgeries.
    • Advanced surgical equipment, including ForceTriad, monopolar, and vessel-sealing devices.
    • Integrated ICU and anesthesia units.
    • Separation between cat and dog ICUs
    • State-of-the-art oxygen cages.
    • Anesthesia units with integrated ventilators.
    • Separate gastrointestinal and respiratory isolation units.
    • Cloud-based software with integration to other systems in the hospital
