    DoveLewis Veterinary Emergency and Specialty Hospital is looking for a skillful, driven and compassionate Veterinary Oncologist. In this position you will have the opportunity to work with DoveLewis to build your Oncology service with multiple team members, including an oncology surgeon!

    This is an amazing opportunity to start a new Oncology service at one of the few non-profit, AAHA-accredited, VECCS Level 1 emergency and specialty hospitals in the country. DoveLewis is a different kind of veterinary hospital. As a non-profit with no private equity or corporate investors , we are able to dedicate ourselves to serving every animal and every person who cares for them, without any corporate strings attached.

    As an Oncologist at DoveLewis, you will have everything you need to practice top quality medicine and establish a thriving service including a brand-new, state-of-the-art specialty building that will house more than 14 other specialists, access to one of the best emergency and critical care teams in the country, and all the benefits of our 50+ year reputation.

    As part of the DoveLewis team you will be well respected in the community and enjoy strong relationships with referring veterinarians and clients. You will work with our existing specialties, medical leadership team, the referring veterinary community, and our dedicated Outreach Coordinators to build your initial caseload. You will also consult with and take transfers from our busy ER and ICU.

    • A team of 14+ board-certified veterinary specialists in Critical Care, Surgery, Internal Medicine, Neurology, Cardiology, and Radiology, and soon oncology!
    • There is 24/7 on-call surgery availability.
    • We have 7-day Criticalist coverage.

    • Our veterinarians have the ability to focus more on the pet with help from our 200+ teammates including 5+ Veterinary Technician Specialists , and dedicated support staff.

    What Are We Looking For?

    Whether you're early on in your career or you're a seasoned Veterinarian looking to advance yourself somewhere new, we want to connect! We are looking for:

    • Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) or equivalent from an AVMA-accredited school of veterinary medicine or certification through ECFVG
    • Ability to be licensed in the state of Oregon
    • Current DACVIM (Oncology) board-certified or board eligible
    • An understanding of and commitment to a client centered practice
    • A passion for providing exceptional care to animals with cancer
    • Excellent communication and collaboration skills for working effectively with patients, families and colleagues

    Any satisfactory equivalent combination of experience and training may be considered as substitution for the above.
