- Veterinary surgery technician

Position Summary:
The Veterinary Surgery Technician will play a vital role in supporting our board-certified surgeon and specialist during complex orthopedic and soft tissue procedures. This position requires a technician with a strong understanding of surgical protocols, excellent technical skills, and a passion for patient care. Experience with arthroscopy is preferred.
Responsibilities:
- Assist the surgeon during orthopedic and soft tissue surgical procedures, including pre-operative, intra-operative, and post-operative care.
- Prepare and maintain the surgical suite, ensuring sterility and proper equipment function.
- Monitor patients under anesthesia, including vital signs and recovery.
- Provide skilled surgical instrument handling and passing.
- Assist with surgical radiography and other imaging techniques.
- Maintain accurate surgical records and documentation.
- Provide post-operative patient care and client education.
- Maintain and sterilize surgical instruments and equipment.
- Assist with inventory management of surgical supplies.
- Assist with arthroscopic procedures, including equipment setup and maintenance (preferred).
- Provide excellent patient care and client communication.
Qualifications:
- Licensed Veterinary Technician (LVT) or equivalent certification preferred, or significant on the job experience.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience as a surgical technician, with a strong focus on orthopedics and soft tissue surgery.
- Proven experience in assisting with complex surgical procedures.
- Strong knowledge of surgical protocols, aseptic technique, and anesthesia monitoring.
- Excellent technical skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Experience with arthroscopy procedures is highly preferred.
- Knowledge of surgical radiography and other imaging techniques.
- Ability to lift and restrain animals.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays, as needed.
