    What You'll Do

    As a Veterinary Technician , you'll play a key role in caring for our animals, assisting with diagnostic sample collection, and supporting veterinarians during wellness examinations. You'll be a vital part of our team, ensuring the highest standards of care and compliance with Good Laboratory Practices (GLP).

    Your Day-to-Day Will Include

    • Recording clinical observations and data with attention to detail and compliance with GLP standards.
    • Working closely with veterinarians to develop and implement compassionate care plans for animals.
    • Assisting veterinarians during wellness exams and treatments, ensuring a positive experience for animals.
    • Providing initial care and triage when a veterinarian is not immediately available.
    • Administering treatments, including calculating drug doses and delivering medications with care and accuracy.
    • Keeping thorough and accurate electronic medical records for all procedures and treatments.

    This is a non-exempt position, so you'll be eligible for overtime pay after 40 hours per workweek. This role does not involve supervisory duties.

    What We're Looking For

    • Education : High School diploma/GED with LVT, or an AS/BS in Veterinary Technology with at least 1 year of experience in veterinary or laboratory animal science, OR 3 years of experience in veterinary or laboratory animal science without a degree.
    • Nice to Have : ALAT, LAT, or LATG certifications and experience with electronic medical records are a plus!
    • Comfort working in a laboratory setting, including handling animal tissues and managing exposure to animal pathogens, chemicals, and zoonotic organisms.
    • Ability to wear necessary protective gear, including N95 masks and respirators, ensuring safety for you and our animals.

    Physical Requirements

    • Comfortable lifting up to 50 lbs and carrying up to 40 lbs for up to 50 feet.
    • Able to push/pull with up to 75 lbs of force, reach, grip/pinch, stand for extended periods, and climb ladders without restriction.
    • Flexibility to adjust to various schedules, including evenings, weekends, and extended shifts when needed.
