Job Summary

We are a small in-store, but independently owned & operated, hospital seeking a compassionate Veterinary Technician to work on a temporary, part-time basis. Veterinary Technician responsibilities include assisting the Veterinarian with exams and procedures, coordinating animal care, monitoring animal recovery, and communicating with clients. You will work closely with the veterinarian to ensure the health and well-being of all of our pet patients. If you are passionate about providing exceptional animal care, we’d like to meet you.

Responsibilities

Triage pets as they arrive at the clinic

Interview pet owners to obtain a patient history

Take vital signs and acquire blood samples

Assist with animal handling and restraint

Opportunity to perform dentals

Monitor and assist during surgeries

Administer medications and provide at-home dosage instructions for clients

Keep accurate patient records

Qualifications

Licensed RVT

Knowledge of animal care and handling

Excellent communication skills

Ability to multi-task and remain organized in a busy environment

Patience and a love for animals

Experience with Rhapsody PIMS is a plus

Job Details

Predominately small animal, some exotics

Part time, 8-9 hours per day, up to 3 days per week

Temporary, with potential for longer term

Available days: Tuesdays, Fridays, Saturdays, other days negotiable

1099 (non-employee contractor)
