Leander Veterinary Clinic is looking for a Veterinary Technician/Assistant to join our team.
Come join us in our new state-of-the art 8,000 sq ft facility nestled in the heart of Leander. Our busy 5 doctor veterinary practice is looking for a friendly, organized, and responsible full time technician. Our preferred candidate must have a minimum of 1 year veterinary technician assistant experience, exemplary customer service, possess the ability to learn and adapt quickly, multi-task and maintain a positive attitude. We offer mentorship, where you can expand your knowledge and skills. Avimark experience is a PLUS!
Our motto is “Where pets are family.” This position collaborates closely with the veterinarians on staff and with our clients to make sure that the highest level of pet care is achieved. This position will assist in all veterinary services and fundamentals to ensure that all services are provided prior to the pet(s) leaving the hospital. As Veterinary Technician/Assistant your duties will included but are not limited to; tech rooms, restraining skills, client’s communication, facilitation of laboratory tests including blood tests, fecal examinations, urinalysis, skin scraping, and knowledge of vaccination schedules, as well as be able to perform a variety of medical procedures as directed by the veterinarian.
Duties and Responsibilities:
· Ability to listen to clients and provide quality feedback
· Have a professional appearance and demeanor

· Ability to understand and follow instructions
· General cleaning and hospital maintenance
· Maintenance of medical and lab equipment
· Monitor/assist in surgical procedures
· Collect and prepare samples for in-house and reference lab
· Monitor and perform routine treatment on hospital patients
· Placement of IV catheter and administer IV, IM, and SQ medications
· Ability to take and assist with radiographs
· Administer first aid for emergencies
· Administer medication and treatments
· Provide any other general support to the veterinarian and other hospital employees as needed
· This job requires day, evening, Saturday, and some holiday shifts.
