Vice President
Delta Oaks Group is seeking an extremely talented, growth-oriented leader to guide our next phase of growth. The Vice President role is critical for Delta Oaks Group’s future, and we are seeking a candidate with a special combination of technical expertise, business development skills, and a passion for leadership and entrepreneurial growth. This role is ideally suited for an aspiring or current executive capable of using their experience, business acumen, management abilities, and industry contacts to guide a team of talented engineers to an expanded level of success.
VP Responsibilities
Accountable for the fiscal responsibility and sound financial management of their department through developing, recognizing, and implementing practices that increase revenues and decrease costs as well as driving revenue generation through client development and retention.
Evaluate existing workflows and processes and determine which require documentation, cross-training, redesign, or automation.
Maximize utilization of existing resources, equipment, and personnel, as well as make recommendations for changes
Lead the formulation and implementation of the strategic plan that guides the direction of the department, including accountability for financial performance and implementation of strategic initiatives
Reviews and tracks departmental financial performance and budgets, including the communication and resolution of significant variances as well as the authorization of budget expenditures
Recruiting, managing, and retaining department personnel, including ensuring that their team has the right processes and tools to be successful
Manage department personnel and leads them to success through the implementation of innovative and efficient procedures and processes
Perform quality inspection of department deliverables, providing coaching/training to teams as necessary to improve delivered product
Work with project coordinator(s) to proactively track project schedules, taking action as schedule expectations dictate
Contributing to the sales and profitability requirements of the business through strategic business development
Develops client relationships, client retention practices, and grows/develops/maintains revenue streams
Interacting with top priority clients on various issues
Maintaining awareness of both the external and internal competitive landscape, opportunities for expansion, customers, markets, and new industry developments and standards
The selected individual will be expected to have a thorough understanding of civil engineering services, particularly in the telecommunications, fiber, and utilities industry, including how they contribute to and affect the successful delivery of a turn-key end product from both a technical and scheduling standpoint. Due to the nature and limited timelines of most projects, the selected candidate must be willing and capable of exhibiting the work ethic, interpersonal communication, and sociability skills to succeed in a fast paced environment where timely, professional and effective communication with co-workers, clients and strategic partners is paramount.
Computer Software Experience
In-depth knowledge of Microsoft Office, particularly Word and advanced Excel functions is required
Experience with computer drafting software, AutoCAD and AutoCAD Civil 3D, is a plus.
Experience/Minimum Requirements
Minimum of 10 years’ progressive experience and demonstrated proficiency in the civil engineering field, focusing on site development, earthwork, drainage, and/or utilities, and site acquisition
Minimum of 5 years’ experience in business development and client relations
Demonstrated experience in leading organizational change
Experience managing site development projects at a holistic level is required
Experience designing all aspects (grading, stormwater, utilities, erosion control, infrastructure layout, etc.) of civil site development is required
Experience in the telecommunications field is strongly preferred
o If candidate does not have experience in the telecommunications industry, candidate should have experience in energy or other utility related industries and possess the ability to develop a business line in those verticals
Demonstrated ability to develop and maintain client and strategic partner relationships

Educational Requirements
Bachelor of Science in Civil or related engineering field from an ABET accredited institution.
