    Job Description

    ***This is a full-time in-office position.

    The Vice President – International (VP) will lead a major segment of the operations of Sheladia's international division. The VP must be capable of managing and directing a multi-disciplined team. They will collaborate with their peers in Sheladia’s other business units as needed to achieve corporate goals of growth and profitability while serving its purpose of delivering excellence in service and serving our clients’ needs. This position bears responsibility for strategic planning, client relations, marketing, proposal development and operations.

    This position is full-time and fully on-site, based at the corporate headquarters in Rockville, Maryland with international travel up to 25% of the time.

    The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:

    • Work closely with other business division executives to achieve overall company objectives
    • Work closely with the executive leadership to plan and implement both short and long-range operational goals
    • Develop operations plan and forecasts; conduct regular operating cost analysis, manage operating costs and budget performance
    • Develop and implement the business plan for the international division
    • Drive the international division operational performance and capabilities
    • Build and maintain relations with clients and partners to promote strategic interests of the firm and for ongoing and prospective projects
    • Communicate regularly with industry peers
    • Direct and oversee business development, proposal preparation and marketing initiatives
    • Lead and direct multi-disciplined international team to ensure project completion within budget and schedule and at the required level of quality
    • Provides oversight for all project managers’ projects while focusing on improving performance
    • Travel overseas as necessary to maintain client relations, participate in contract negotiations and/or provide high-level project management/site visits
    • Ensure proper project tracking and reporting
    • Take leadership initiative in working with all internal team members, and all client departments including cost/scheduling, procurement, quality assurance, contracts, legal, labor relations, finance, accounting and other services and departments as required to successfully manage the project, and achieve an integrated project team approach to the work
    • Review contracts, scope documents, budgets, and invoices
    • Review and comment on all change orders, and contracts/sub-contracts, and represent the client interests to ensure control over and validate that all change orders are current, fair and adequate
    • Mentor and supervise staff and promote staff development and retention
    • Promote team building opportunities, create individual career plans and work with human resources for staff engagement
    • Coordinate recruitment of staff as needed

  • Qualifications

    Qualifications

    • Bachelor's degree in International Affairs, Engineering, Architecture, or a relevant professional discipline. An advanced degree is strongly preferred.
    • Minimum of fifteen (15) years’ international development and A &E work experience, with experience managing A&E projects in a leadership role within the past 5 years.
    • Experience with and understanding of donor banks and host country funded contract vehicles; MCC, World Bank, ADB, etc.
    • Relevant experience overseeing multilateral bank funded projects in developing countries strongly preferred.
    • Experience leading multi-disciplinary teams and managing budgets, schedules and contracts for infrastructure project delivery.
    • Excellent oral and written communications, critical thinking, creativity, and marketing strategy development experience for A&E services.
    • Professional engineer registration is highly desired.
    • Must be authorized to work in the U.S.

    Additional Information

    Proposed Salary: $160 - 200k annual

    Other compensation: opportunities for annual increase and bonus, and other types of bonuses
