The Vice President of Lending is responsible for overseeing and managing the lending operations of the credit union, including; Consumer Lending, Real Estate Lending, Indirect Lending, Business Lending, Student Loans, and Special Accounts. This involves responsibility for planning, organizing, implementing, directing and controlling all areas of responsibility in regard to lending policies, procedures, and strategies to maximize loan growth, profitability and portfolio quality in accordance with the direction of the credit union President/CEO and Board of Directors, and consistent with regulatory requirements.
The VP of Lending is a critical role in the financial institution's success by driving loan growth, ensuring compliance, and maintaining high standards of member service. This position requires a strategic leader capable of managing a complex and evolving lending environment.
Salary: $122,654.41 - $153,318.01 annually
Essential Functions:
- Develop, initiate and execute a strategic plan for the lending departments of Consumer Lending, Real Estate Lending, Indirect Lending, Business Lending, Student Loan, and Special Accounts to achieve organizational goals.
- Monitor and analyze market trends to identify opportunities for loan product development and growth.
- Serve as a member of the senior management team of the credit union, participating in the highest level of decision-making with collaborating to align lending strategies with overall business objectives.
- Prepare and implement strategies for the departments consistent with the overall strategic plan and budget of the credit union.
- Design, develop and implement lending programs, policies and processes for the credit union, maintaining a balance between risk management and member satisfaction with regulatory standards and industry best practices. Evaluate and communicate results, making revisions as appropriate.

- Sets and maintains goals and objectives for each assigned department and manages each assigned department to maximize accomplishment of goals and standards.
- Manages relationships with outside vendors, etc.
- Recommend new products, services and changes in existing services to meet the financial needs of the membership.
- Manage, administrate, evaluate and make recommendations for change to the areas of responsibility to ensure they are running efficiently, effectively and in compliance with all policies and procedures as outlined by Federal, State and internal guidelines.
- Oversee the Credit Union's lending process to ensure that appropriate action is taken and that approved personal loans are within authorized lending limits.
- Directly responsible to the Board of Directors for the Credit Union's loan portfolio.
- Responsible for the adequate training and evaluation of all assigned personal.
- Evaluate the quality of the portfolio and recommends policy and procedure changes as necessary to meet the Credit Union's standards and objectives.
- Maintains profitability at its highest possible level, while meeting or exceeding the Credit Union's goals and objectives.
- Responsible for assigned departmental security and risk management. Maintains adequate internal controls by recommending needed procedure and policy changes to the President.
- Prepare and present regular reports on lending activities, portfolio performance, and market trends to senior management.
- Utilize data and analytics to make informed decisions and drive continuous improvement in lending operations.
- Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of lending programs and initiatives.
- Complies with state and federal regulations.
- Follow Bank Secrecy Act (BSA) policies and procedures as they relate to this position.
- Other responsibilities as assigned by the President/CEO and/or EVP.
Skills:
- A minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree in Finance/Business/Accounting or a related field.
- 5-8 years of previous credit union/financial institution management experience is required.
- Able to effectively and professionally communicate to all employees, City & County City CU members, and outside vendors, including both written, verbal and presentations.
- Requires a solid understanding of state and federal laws and regulations that impact all areas of the credit union.
- Assume responsibility for establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with team members, coworkers, Board of Directors and all levels of management and for acquiring and maintaining advanced knowledge of credit union products, services, promotions, and lending materials.

- Ability to simultaneously handle multiple tasks and change priorities in an effective manner.
- Strong analytical and project management skills.
- Ability to design, interpret, and implement new lending programs/services and changes in existing programs.
- Extensive experience in lending, credit analysis, and risk management, with a proven track record in a senior leadership role. In-depth knowledge of lending regulations, compliance requirements, and industry best practices.
- Requires a good understanding of state and federal laws that impact credit union lending operations.
- Demonstrated leadership qualities including strong human relations, organizational, and communication skills.
- Proficiency in financial analysis software and loan management systems.
- Strong computer skills in Microsoft technologies are required, ex: Microsoft Word and Excel.
- Must be a licensed driver with a working automobile available to you at all times.
