    The NBC Sports Decision Sciences team works across sports content strategy and consumer insights to tell the story of the “why” and the “what” behind sports fandom and media consumption across NBCU platforms and offers a deep understanding of the overall sports and media landscape. The Vice President will report into the SVP of Decisions Sciences. As Vice President, you will work in a fast-paced environment with dedicated and passionate professionals, delivering cross-platform insights and analyses that support key stakeholders both within NBC Sports and Peacock. This role is integral to driving growth in audiences and creating fandom for NBC Sports and its league partners.

    1. Generate and evangelize impactful sports property performance insights across platforms for NBC Sports and Peacock

    2. Drive internal and external data sharing, partner with SVP on communication strategies

    Responsibilities:

    • Manage reporting and analysis responsibilities using both local and national TV audience data (Nielsen, ComScore, STB data sets, etc.), streaming data (Adobe Analytics, internal Peacock metrics) and additional data sets across the Sports landscape, including coverage for weekend events, to develop insights
    • Partner with Consumer Insights team to integrate performance insights with other qualitative and primary research to produce a full, rounded view of the sports fan
    • Collaborate with cross-portfolio Decision Sciences leads to understand audience dynamics between Sports and other NBCU programming
    • Collect, analyze and interpret both TV and streaming data for recurring reports as well as ad hoc requests, highlighting the performance of NBC Sports properties and the broader sports landscape
    • Evaluate linear and streaming forecasts and participate in strategic analysis process for the Insights team, supporting Content Strategy, Finance, and Sales needs.
    • Bring a fresh perspective to daily/weekly/monthly/quarterly reporting, helping to position analysis in a creative and concise manner. Prioritize reporting needs.
    • Collaborate with cross-functional team members in the evaluation of new technology and systems to help modernize and streamline workflow
    • Evangelize sports performance stories and data-driven decision making throughout the organization
    • Present and communicate performance results and findings to various stakeholders at all levels of the organization, positioning analyses in a creative and concise manner, including development of first-rate dashboards and drive data visualization
    • Generate timely, relevant and appropriate insights for programming and planning teams
    • Work to define performance benchmarks & goals, business needs and analytical approach to develop data driven solutions
    • Generate ad-hoc analyses to answer critical and time-sensitive business questions, identifying areas of strategic opportunity
    • Help contribute to a diverse, equitable, and inclusive work culture at NBC Sports and across the NBCUniversal organization

  • Qualifications

    Qualifications

    Required Qualifications:

    • 12+ years of analytical experience working with large, complex data sets and analytical tools, with expert levels of Nielsen methodology, data sets, products, ability to run data firsthand and direct team to specific Nielsen needs, along with advanced knowledge of streaming analytics tools, including Adobe Analytics.
    • 10+ years of experience in sports industry and deep knowledge of sports landscape; passion for sports and related content a plus, understand sports media business cycle
    • Proficiency in SQL, Tableau, Adobe Analytics, Excel and PowerPoint. Knowledge of additional coding languages is a plus

    • Team oriented and collaborative with an aptitude and willingness to learn
    • Exceptional project management and organizational skills, combining a flexible, strategic approach with attention to detail.
    • Experience with statistical modeling and/or advanced data science techniques is a plus

    Hybrid: This position has been designated as hybrid, generally contributing from the office a minimum of three days per week.
