    Job Description

    AECOM is seeking a seasoned leader with deep-rooted experience and relationships in the Pacific Northwest. The Pacific Northwest Transportation Executive will be AECOM’s senior executive in the area who will serve as the face of AECOM for Transportation in the marketplace and will also be a member of the senior leadership team for the West Coast Transportation Business Line. This person will have business development and sales responsibilities, purview of client account management for key transportation clients in the market, and oversight of project delivery and technical staff with a focus on highway, structures, and transit-rail disciplines.

    Job Summary/Responsibilities

    The candidate will need to be a growth minded leader who can work collaboratively with senior leadership and mentor staff to support business development, project delivery, and develop and implement the growth strategy for the Pacific Northwest. The ideal person must be able to communicate their ideas clearly and convincingly to peers and senior leadership.

    The responsibilities of this position may include, but are not limited to:

    Business Development

    • In collaboration with senior leadership, develop and own the long-term vision for AECOM’s Pacific Northwest Transportation business as well as annual strategic planning process

    • As the market leader, be responsible for wins and bookings goals for the geography

    • Work with Division Managers to evaluate and position for opportunities, and act as key stakeholder in owning Go/No Go decisions

    • Own the capture process, ensuring all major pursuits have a capture manager assigned and act as a capture manager as needed

    • Ensure unflinching customer focus, demonstrate deep customer insight, and promote a client driven culture

    • Manage a team of client account leaders for key clients within the Pacific Northwest

    • Collaborate with local leadership across the West and organize civic engagement activities and be responsible for budgeting and tracking business development and civic spend

    • Be responsible for holding regular business development meetings with all relevant stakeholders and ensuring frequent and regular communication and collaboration

    • Attend events and conferences, and serve in leadership position(s) for relevant industry organizations

    Project Delivery

    • In partnership with Division Managers, Operations, and Project Managers, provide oversight to support successful technical and commercial delivery of key projects and programs

    • Partner with Regional Quality leader to ensure that quality processes are being followed

    • Support management of staffing needs of projects in the Pacific Northwest

    • Act as project principal, and project manager as needed, on key projects in the geography

    People

    • As the senior executive for Transportation, mentor staff for technical, project management, and business development tasks

    • Help build a strong and thriving culture that promotes equity, diversity, & inclusion, and innovation

    • Provide leadership in recruiting and retaining top talent to the Pacific Northwest, aligned with market needs and strategic pursuits

    • Recruit and develop successor for this role

    Qualifications

    Minimum Requirements

    • BS in Civil Engineering or other relevant degree and 12 years of related experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education, including 4+ years of leadership

    • Licensed PE in the State of Washington

    • Strong existing relationships with transportation clients in the Washington market including Washington DOT and Sound Transit, as well as contractor community

    • Prior Project Management and Design Management experience

    • Seasoned people manager who can demonstrate ability to grow team, mentor, develop, and retain staff

    • Proven experience winning work and developing business in the Pacific Northwest

    • Team-oriented and able to work in a fast-paced environment with minimal supervision

    • Ability to communicate problems clearly and simply to clients, leadership, and technical staff

    • Ability to balance various project and company responsibilities and deadlines while maintaining professionalism and quality

    Preferred Qualifications

    • Alternative Project Delivery (DB, PDB, GCCM) experience heavily preferred

    • Prior experience with P&L is a plus

    • Experience with PMCM a plus
