    Job Description

    The Sports Planning Vice President will be responsible for all English & Spanish Language TV Sports Pricing and Planning across the NBC portfolio inclusive of all major tentpole events – Olympics, Super Bowl, World Cup. They will lead and manage Planning Directors and provide strategic direction regarding pricing, inventory and ratecard development. The Vice President of Sports Planning is expected to communicate and work closely with Sales when negotiating upfront and scatter deals, as well as provide continuous Pricing and Packaging updates based on marketplace conditions. In addition to overseeing linear planning, they will be responsible for collaborating regarding or Digital/Peacock go-to-market strategies and execution in order to monetize inventory across all NBC Sports platforms. This person will report directly to the Senior Vice President of Sports Planning & Monetization.

    Duties and Responsibilities:

    • Oversee a large team of Directors, Managers, and Planners across select Agency groups.
    • Responsible for TV Upfront Planning, inclusive of ratecard development and negotiation of select Agencies in collaboration with Sales.
    • Collaborate with Digital counterparts regarding overall Planning strategies to drive yield across NBC Sports platforms through packaging and liability management.
    • Partner with leaders across functions including but not limited to: Ad Ops, Inventory, Marketing, Finance Sales, etc.
    • Work closely with Technology to develop automation to improve the pitch to pay process from RFP to invoicing.
    • Set pricing and packaging strategy for TV, in close collaboration with VPs and SVP of Planning.
    • Present to various internal and external constituents on various topics such as: Specific Sport analysis, Pricing rationale, Planning workflow, etc.
    • Handle all ad hoc requests that may surface in a timely, efficient manner.
  • Qualifications

    Qualifications

    Required Qualifications:

    • Minimum 10+ years of Ad Sales Pricing/Planning experience.
    • Minimum 5+ years of planning experience for a linear cable or broadcast network.
    • Minimum 2+ years of planning experience in live sports content.
    • Proven experience in developing and executing media plans across multiple channels.
    • Must be able to work weekends as needed (ex: the Olympics).

    • Well organized and good attention to detail. Able to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
    • Strong computer skills especially in Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.

    Hybrid : This position has been designated as hybrid, generally contributing from the office a minimum of three days per week.

    Salary range: $185,000 - $210,000
