    Position Title: VP of Software Development
    Department: IT – Software Development

    Responsibilities:

    Software Development

    • Oversee all aspects of software development, from planning and design to implementation and maintenance.

    • Ensure alignment of software development with business objectives and user needs.

    • Drive product quality and performance.

    Manage Software Support

    • Direct and supervise support teams for all systems and interfaces.

    • Ensure timely and efficient support delivery, meeting all regulatory requirements.

    Lead Testing & Quality Assurance

    • Establish and oversee the entire testing process, including functional, performance, and regression testing.

    • Develop and enforce quality standards and guidelines

    Manage & Develop Team

    • Manage and develop a high-performing software development and support team.

    • Recruit, train, and mentor team members.

    Work Requirements, Experience and Skills:

    • Minimum 10 years managing software teams, with proven ability to lead, motivate, and develop high-performing teams.

    • Ability to grasp business needs, set strategic systems direction, and drive process improvement.

    • Thorough understanding of software development principles, coupled with preferred knowledge of insurance products.

    • Excellent analytical, decision-making, and problem-solving skills with a focus on strategic and tactical execution.

    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills are essential for effectively collaborating with team members, stakeholders, and clients.

    • May require work over 40 hours a week to complete functions and expectations of the position.

    • Note: We are not currently considering applicants in CO, DC, HI, IL, MA, MD, MN, NJ, NY, VT, WA, for this position.

    Education:

    • Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related field preferred.

    • Industry standard development certifications are beneficial.

    • Insurance license/designation beneficial.
