    The Role:

    As the Vice President of Engineering of Merchant Solutions, you will define and execute Wolfe's engineering vision and strategy within the Merchant Solutions business unit, ensuring alignment with corporate objectives and driving long-term growth. This role positions technology as a critical enabler of business strategy and operations, fostering a strong partnership with business stakeholders to deliver innovative and scalable solutions. You will lead senior engineering leaders, ensuring alignment with business goals while fostering a culture of technical excellence.     Responsibilities:

    Strategic Leadership:

    • Define and implement the Merchant Solutions engineering organization's engineering strategy, ensuring alignment with Wolfe's goals and long-term objectives.
    • Collaborate with senior leadership and stakeholders to prioritize initiatives and drive innovation across engineering teams.
    • Set technical direction for the organization, balancing short-term deliverables with long-term strategic growth.

    People Management and Development:

    • Lead senior and mid-level engineers, mentoring them to excel in their roles and fostering a high-performance culture.
    • Oversee talent acquisition, development, and retention across engineering teams.
    • Guide the engineering organization to align with Wolfe's Core Values: Drive, Caring, Integrity, Teamwork, and Excellence.

    Technical Excellence:

    • Provide technical guidance and ensure adherence to best practices in software development, architecture, and quality standards.
    • Guide senior leaders in developing and implementing solutions that impact the entire organization.
    • Stay ahead of industry trends, promoting the adoption of new technologies that align with business goals.

    Operational Excellence:

    • Oversee the health and performance of production systems, driving cross-functional initiatives to improve system resilience and scalability.
    • Ensure projects adhere to timelines, budgets, and quality standards, addressing risks proactively.
    • Establish technical standards and processes that enhance productivity and technical capabilities.

    Collaboration and Communication:

    • Partner with Product, Design, and Business teams to align technical solutions with corporate strategies.
    • Serve as a strategic advisor to executive leadership, reporting on engineering achievements, challenges, and opportunities.
    • Advocate for a culture of innovation and operational efficiency throughout the organization.

    Measurements and Accountability:

    • Establish and maintain measurements for self and team. Hold team, peers and self, accountable for results.

    Qualifications:

    • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
    • 15+ years of experience in engineering, with at least 10+ years in leadership roles, including managing senior engineers and managers.
    • Proven ability to lead large-scale engineering initiatives with measurable business impact.
    • Strong understanding of software development lifecycle, project management, and emerging technologies.
    • Experience in fintech, payments, or a related domain is highly desirable.
    • Excellent problem-solving, organizational, and communication skills.
