  • Responsibilities

    Job Description

    Responsible for working across departments and properties to maximize hotel occupancies, generate revenue growth, and enhance business performance through operational insights and analytics. Develop and implement plans to achieve the long term budgetary goals across all Boyd Gaming properties. Drives innovation, fosters positive organizational culture, and ensures brand consistency and high standards.

    • Provides strategic leadership and guidance in the execution of hotel/property business plans.
    • Development of analytics to benchmark and enhance service levels, productivity, profitability, and to aid strategic decision making.
    • Works to maintain consistency in Boyd Gaming’s hotel products and enhance the brand.
    • Drives branded programming and innovation in hotel concepts to exceed guest expectations and enhance revenue.
    • Identifies, creates, and implements brand standards and best practices.
    • Leads the development, implementation, and maintaining of operational standards, and hotel room standards, including room amenities, bedding, products, design, and safety.
    • Continuously examines administrative effectiveness and develops more efficient procedures or consolidation of processes.
    • Assists Corporate IT in recommending, testing, installing, upgrading, and implementing all hotel/sales related systems for the Boyd Gaming.
    • Ensures that the Boyd Gaming key stakeholders are able to effectively develop realistic occupancy goals, sales objectives, projections, and set hotel rates that will generate revenue increases and meet occupancy goals and revenue targets.
    • Works directly with all Boyd Gaming’s Group Sales Directors to ensure that sales teams meet all goals and commitments.
    • Responds quickly to changing market conditions/trends and explores new revenue and technology opportunities and encourages property directors to do the same.
    • Works as liaison to Corporate HR to assist and recommend changes/enhancements to, restructuring of, and/or replacement/consolidation of key hotel/sales positions.
    • Networks within the industry and community to gain insight and share information.
    • Stays informed of market and industry trends.
    • Explores and develops strategic partnerships.
    • Other duties as assigned by management.
  • Qualifications

    Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in business, sales, or hotel administration.
    • Ten years of progressive experience and proven track record in hotel management, food & beverage operations, or related field.
    • Previous national hospitality brand experience overseeing multiple quality, service, and pricing segments.
    • Ability to build and foster a collaborative and cohesive culture.
    • Development experience in the designing and opening of new hotels.
    • Diverse business experience with significant administrative responsibilities in a major corporation with multiple units.
    • Ability to thrive in fast-paced environment.
    • Drive for quality, efficiency, and innovation.
    • Desire to solve complex challenges.
    • Ability to travel frequently for visits to Boyd properties, conferences, and strategic meetings.
    • Excellent negotiation and communication skills with ability to adjust presentation to appropriate audience as required.
    • Excellent analytic, decision making, and problem solving skills to assess and improve operational strategies.
    • Familiarity with and use of hotel business intelligence tools and software.
    • Ability to handle multiple projects with concurrent aggressive deadlines.
    • Must be able to obtain/maintain any necessary certifications and/or licenses as required by local gaming regulations.
    • Experience with change management, including developing and implementing solutions requiring comprehensive transformations of operational practices.
