    Job Description

    We are looking for a VP of Finance to join our team in Plano, TX. We are seeking a visionary leader who understands how to drive value, possesses a balance of technical and business acumen, and excels in process improvement with a strong grasp on leveraging technology. This role will be pivotal in shaping the financial strategy and operations of the organization.

    The VP of Finance will be a key executive hire, acting as a trusted partner to the senior leadership team. This role will oversee the management reporting for our Self Storage portfolio and lead significant process improvements. The VP will be responsible for identifying, recommending, and implementing new processes, technologies, and systems to enhance and streamline organizational processes across various finance functions, including Management Reporting, Budgeting, Accounts Payable, and Divisional KPIs.

    Job Responsibilities:

    • Partner with Operations Division Leaders and collaborate closely with Financial Planning and Business Finance teams to drive operational and financial performance.

    • Partner across the organization to drive forecasting, budgeting, and long-term strategic planning efforts.

    • Oversee internal management reporting for Store Operations, Retail, Call Center, and Accounts Payable, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.

    • Refine, analyze, and integrate financial statements to provide actionable insights.

    • Identify financial risks and opportunities, providing strategic input on the P&L budget and forecast.

    • Ensure effective processes are in place to support new initiatives in Operations, including the rollout of new technology and the evaluation of potential strategic partners or vendors.

    • Leverage technology to enhance finance deliverables and drive efficiency.

    • Develop and implement new analytical methods tailored to unique operational circumstances, ensuring they are repeatable and delegable.

    • Identify and implement areas for process improvement and standardization of finance deliverables.

    • Partner and collaborate with leaders across functional areas to drive organizational goals.

    • Lead, manage, and mentor direct reports, fostering a high-performance culture.

  • Qualifications

    Qualifications

    • 10+ years of broad financial experience, with a proven track record in senior leadership roles.

    • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited 4-year university in Finance or a related area; CPA is a plus.

    • Extensive experience in leveraging technology to drive process improvement and standardization.

    • Demonstrated ability to use analysis for problem-solving, developing new analytical methods, and improving existing ones.

    • Advanced proficiency in Excel and other financial tools.

    • Strong ability to adapt to different audiences, influence directly and indirectly, and communicate effectively at all organizational levels.

    • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.

    • Proven team player with the ability to make strategic recommendations, gain buy-in, and lead projects to improve business processes and efficiencies.
