    Apicii is a bespoke hospitality management company that develops, owns, operates, and advises on restaurants, bars, and private event spaces across the United States.

    We are currently looking for a dynamic Vice President of Operations who will oversee and grow food and beverage operations and strive to continually improve guest and employee satisfaction while maximizing financial performance.

    This is an exciting opportunity for an entrepreneurial manager who loves to travel and open restaurants to contribute to high profile projects like The Boxyard in collaboration with ownership of the Seattle Mariners.

    Summary:

    The Vice President of Operations will oversee overall operational performance. The ideal candidate will be responsible for driving operational efficiency, enhancing guest satisfaction, optimizing revenue streams, and ensuring consistent brand standards across all locations. As a key member of the executive team, you will collaborate with various departments, including marketing, finance, and human resources, to ensure the company's growth objectives and operational goals are met. The ideal candidate will be based in the Seattle area and have a deep understanding and personal connection to the downtown and SODO areas of Seattle.

    Responsibilities:

    • Full ownership and management of the financials include the ability to control cost and manage inventory, achieve team/performance/revenue targets, and prepare budgets.
    • Developing means to improve profit, including estimating cost and benefit, exploring new programming opportunities, etc.
    • Analyzes information and evaluates results to choose the best solution and solve problems.
    • Ensures and maintains full compliance with all food and beverage policies, health and safety, labor and environmental regulations and procedures by training, supervising, follow-up and hands-on management.
    • Interviews and hire management employees with the appropriate skills to meet the business needs of the operation, as needed
    • Utilizes interpersonal and communication skills to lead, influence, and encourage others; advocates sound financial/business decision making; demonstrates honesty/integrity; leads by example.
    • Displays leadership in guest hospitality, exemplifies exceptional service and creates a positive atmosphere for guest relations.
    • Leads initiatives for operational improvements
    • Inform and/or update the executives, the peers and the subordinates on relevant information in a timely manner.

    Requirements:

    • Bachelor’s degree in hospitality management, Business Administration, or a related field
    • At least 10 years of experience in a director or senior management role overseeing multi-unit, high-volume/high-profile restaurants, bars and hotels of various types of service models (casual - mid level - fine dining)
    • Ability and willingness to travel frequently
    • Ability to collaborate and effectively respond to Senior Leadership and Ownership groups requests for data, initiatives, etc., in a changing environment.
    • Ability to collaborate with Marketing, finance, and HR
    • Must be able to participate in Operations when needed during high profile activations/events, etc.
    • Must have experience in opening new properties, preferably in multiple US markets/cities/states
    • Proven track record of achieving financial targets and improving operational performance.
    • Strong knowledge and understanding of economic and accounting principles and practices, P/L statements and management operating budgets, forecasting and scheduling, and the reporting of financial data
    • Knowledge of business and management principles involved in strategic planning, resource allocation, human resources modeling, leadership techniques, production methods, and coordination of people and resources.
    • Superior knowledge of food and beverage including various cuisine types, ingredients/products, cooking and cocktail crafting techniques, national & global trends
    • The ability to work well under pressure and be a leader who will NURTURE and SUPPORT their TEAM.
    • Tech savvy/familiarity with Micros, Aloha, Toast, Craftable, CTUIT, Avero, Open Table, Triple Seat and Hot Schedules
    • Must be able to work nights, weekends, and holidays
    • Must be able to lift and or move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and /or move up to 100 pounds.
    • Able to work in a standing/walking position for long periods of time
    • Command of the English language
    • Must be eligible to work in the United States

    Washington/Seattle Benefits Summary:

    • Eligible to participate in company subsidized medical/dental/vision/life insurance within 30 days following new hire status
    • Eligibility to participate in employee funded supplemental benefit programs, i.e., disability, within 30 days following new hire status
    • Eligible to participate in 401(k) plan after six months of service and 1000 hours worked. The company will match 50% of employee contribution up to 4% of the employee's annual pay.
