The Vice President of Strategic Growth will be responsible for leading and driving growth initiatives across the organization. This executive will identify, develop, and execute strategies to expand the company's presence in the Department of Defense (DoD) and other government sectors in the Washington, DC region. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of federal contracting processes, exceptional leadership capabilities, and a proven track record of growing revenue streams and partnerships in a highly competitive environment. This role is critical in shaping the company's long-term growth strategy and directly impacting top-line performance.
Responsibilities:
- Lead the strategic growth and business development efforts, focusing on DoD and other federal markets to increase revenue and market share.
- Spearhead revenue generation by achieving initial growth targets followed by sustained annual growth percentages.
- Develop and manage capture strategies for high-priority opportunities, including proposal strategies, solution development, competitive analysis, and pricing strategies.
- Identify new business opportunities within the DoD and federal government sectors and develop long-term strategies to penetrate new markets.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with government customers, partners, and key stakeholders across the defense industry.
- Oversee the development of proposals, ensuring alignment with customer needs, competitive positioning, and compliance with government standards and requirements.
- Forge strategic partnerships and alliances with defense contractors, technology partners, and other relevant entities to enhance the company's competitive edge.
- Represent the company at industry events, conferences, and through publications to elevate the company's profile and thought leadership within the defense sector.
- Oversee strategically important contracts, ensuring timely, within-budget delivery while maintaining high client satisfaction.
- Proactively manage risks, oversee budget and resource allocation, and ensure compliance with all regulations and contract terms.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree required (preferred in Business, Engineering, or related field); advanced degree (MBA, MPA, etc.) preferred.
- Minimum twelve years of experience in federal business development, preferably within the DoD or defense contracting sector.
- Proven track record of driving growth and successfully capturing large government contracts including specific examples of past successes.
- Strong understanding of the DoD procurement process, acquisition lifecycle, and FAR/DFARS.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and negotiation skills.
- Deep understanding of the defense industry, with established relationships within key agencies and defense contractors.
- Ability to analyze market trends, identify growth opportunities, and develop strategic plans.
- Experience managing complex capture processes, from opportunity identification to contract award.
- Proficiency in CRM and business development tools.
This is a hybrid role located in the Washington, DC area.
