Job Summary
We are seeking a compassionate Bilingual Victim Advocate to provide trauma-informed support, crisis intervention, and advocacy services to individuals affected by violence. The ideal candidate will be fluent in Spanish/English and committed to empowering survivors by connecting them with resources and support.
Responsibilities
Provide direct advocacy and emotional support to victims of crime, domestic violence, sexual assault, and other forms of trauma.
Offer crisis intervention via phone, in person, or through our 24/7 Helpline.
Assist clients in navigating legal, medical, and social service systems.
Conduct safety planning and needs assessments tailored to each survivor’s situation.
Collaborate with law enforcement, legal professionals, and community partners to ensure comprehensive support.
Facilitate access to mental health counseling and other holistic services.
Maintain accurate documentation of client interactions and case progress.
Participate in outreach, education, and prevention efforts within the community.
Qualifications
Associates, Bachelor’s or higher in criminal justice, social work or equivalent field desired
Fluency in Spanish and English (spoken and written) required.
Experience working with survivors of trauma, domestic violence, or sexual assault preferred.
Strong understanding of trauma-informed care and victim advocacy principles.
Ability to handle sensitive situations with empathy, discretion, and professionalism.
Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and respond to crisis situations as needed.
Experience in a people-facing role
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Experience with basic computer programs, such as Microsoft Office suite
