    Our client is seeking an experienced Principal Engineer for a permanent opportunity in Houston, TX. A P.E. in Texas is required. Seeking plant processing experience (not pipeline).

    U.S. Citizens only.

    Responsibilities:

    Provide process engineering expertise in support of optimization activities across all assets. Act as the lead technical person and SME for the optimization of gas processing facilities. Develop facility processing and economic models to identify inefficiencies and monetize performance improvements. Perform a multitude of process related duties to ensure processing plants and equipment are operating efficiently, effectively, and within specifications.

    • Develop new models and expanding existing models to support real-time facility optimization.
    • Providing guidance to local engineering and operations.
    • Troubleshooting operational problems to determine causes and solutions.
    • Report development and generation.
    • Developing projects in support of optimization efforts.
    • Creating operational monitoring programs for plant assets.
    • Maintaining a global view of the asset system including gathering, compression, residue gas, and NGLs.

    Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Chemical or Mechanical) and/or equivalent experience.
    • P.E. License (Texas) is highly preferred.
    • A minimum of 15 years related experience is required; oil and gas industry experience required.
    • Proficient process simulation skills on Promax and VMG/Symmetry or other similar software packages.
    • Knowledge of facility design practices including compression and separation, fluid flow, piping design, foundation design, structural design, instrument and electrical systems, distributed control systems (DCS), programmable logic controllers (PLC), SCADA design, process control basics and safety systems.
    • Ability to troubleshoot and develop/implement process improvement solutions
    • Solid understanding of plant operations in the midstream industry, including cryogenic gas processing, glycol and molecular sieve dehydration, amine treating, and compression.
    • Knowledge of Process Safety Management (PSM) including Management of Change (MOC), Process Hazard Analysis (PHA) and Pre-Start-up Safety Review (PSSR), and Root Cause Analysis (RCA).
    • Ability to work out of the Houston office as well as remote.

    Compensation: This role pays up to $180K DOE. Company offers full benefits as well as yearly bonuses and a match on 401K.
