Responsibilities: • Meet with clients face-to-face, whether in person or at detention centers, to evaluate their legal needs and devise the most effective strategy for their case. • Manage a diverse caseload that encompasses both misdemeanors and felonies, overseeing each case from its initiation to its conclusion. • Represent clients at hearings and trials held in Virginia state courts and the federal court located in the Eastern District of Virginia. • Advocate for clients by drafting, submitting, and presenting court motions, memoranda, and various legal documents before state and federal judges in Northern Virginia. Qualifications: • Must be admitted to the Virginia State Bar and the Eastern District of Virginia Federal Court to practice law in Virginia. • Should have a minimum of 3 years of criminal defense experience, including handling felony cases and conducting jury trials. • Demonstrated ability to handle both state and federal criminal cases effectively. • Fluency in Spanish is highly desired to cater to our diverse clientele. • Excellent written and verbal communication skills are necessary for effective client representation both in and out of the courtroom.
