Job Title: Virtual Mental Health Support Provider Location: Remote (Serving the United States Merchant Marine Academy) Contract Type: Independent Contractor/Freelance
SOS Personnel and Tomorrow's People Consulting are seeking highly qualified mental health professionals to provide virtual mental health support services for Midshipmen at the United States Merchant Marine Academy (USMMA). This role is part of a government contract initiative to offer accessible, secure, and confidential virtual counseling services to students through a mobile application.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide professional virtual mental health counseling and support via a secure digital platform.
Monitor, evaluate, and assess Midshipmen’s mental health needs.
Maintain compliance with HIPAA and FERPA regulations to protect patient privacy and sensitive data.
Collaborate with Department of Health Services and Midshipman Counseling and Personal Development (MCPD) staff as needed.
Maintain up-to-date and accurate documentation of all counseling sessions.
Report monthly engagement statistics and case progress.
Qualifications & Requirements:
Candidates must meet the following qualifications to be considered:
Education & Credentials:
Clinical Psychologist: Doctorate in Clinical Psychology (Ph.D. or Psy.D.) with a minimum of three (3) years of clinical experience.
OR
Mental Health Counselor/Social Worker: Master’s degree in Mental Health Counseling, Social Work, or Clinical Social Work with a minimum of three (3) years of experience working with patients up to the age of 24.
Additional Requirements:
Active and valid licensure in mental health counseling or clinical psychology.
Professional liability and/or malpractice insurance.
Experience providing virtual therapy or telehealth services preferred.
Ability to work independently while following all professional ethical guidelines.
Proficiency in using digital platforms for telehealth services.
