We currently have an opportunity for a PRIMARY CARE PHYSICIAN for our Hialeah location.
The Physician provides high quality medical care for patients with acute and chronic medical conditions in accordance with evidence-based medicine.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Provides high quality plans of care for patients with acute and chronic illnesses.
- Ensure accuracy of medical record documentation to reflect the reason for the patient visit, history of illness, review of symptoms, physical examination, and plan of treatment for each condition.
- Document all patient evaluations, treatments, medications, and transactions in support of services rendered and according to company policies and procedures.
- Complete and electronically sign all progress notes daily.
- Prevent diseases and complications of diseases by providing patient education concerning diet, appropriate disease preventive screenings and lifestyle modification, including good hygiene practices and exercise.
- Prescribe, administer, and dispense medications in accordance with State and Federal Statutes.
- Supervise and assist in the education of Medical Assistants to ensure compliance with applicable regulations.
- Responsible for full patient care and outcomes, while seeking consultation from specialists as needed, while ultimately being responsible for the care of the patient.
- Responsible for assessment, diagnosis, treatment, management, education, care coordination and documentation for patients with acute, complex chronic needs.
- Provider will be active in the management of their center and at times will help cover other Providers in their absence.
- Review and sign all consultation reports and diagnostic tests and implement the appropriate plan of care.
- Maintain a collaborative and effective relationship with the medical center staff.
- Remain up to date with the developments and best practices in medicine through reviews of medical literature and continuing medical education.
- Comply with HIPAA requirements for patient confidentiality.
- Cultivate an environment of compassion, respect and service for patients.
- Promptly return calls from patients and physicians.
- Other duties as assigned.
EDUCATION/QUALIFICATIONS:
- MD or DO in Internal Medicine, Family Medicine, Geriatrics or similar specialty required.
- Must have active State Medical License for the state of Florida.
- Board certification in Internal Medicine, Family Medicine, Geriatrics or similar specialty is preferred.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
- Must have a current DEA number for schedule II-V controlled substances.
