    The Boston School of Music Arts, a well established area music school with two locations, is hiring qualified Voice instructors. Experience with an additional instrument (ideally piano or guitar) preferred.

    A college degree in music is NOT required, although highly preferred. A few of our best teachers have been performers who have 10+ years of teaching experience, are experienced performers, great with children, and have an outgoing personality.

    We are one of Boston's largest music schools with a few hundred students taking lessons weekly, and we offer top pay, take care of all administration, payments and marketing, and more. It's a great position for talented musicians who are looking for steady work and who have a love for working with people., and helping to create new musicians.

    We are seeking an energetic and experienced Voice Faculty member to join our team! The ideal candidate is compassionate, creative, and has a passion for teaching students ages 5 and up, and Adults, and can help to provide a great musical foundation. This is an in-school (not in-home or online-only) position.

    The successful candidate will be a W2 employee, not an independent contractor.

    Responsibilities:

    Deliver 1-on-1 lessons across genres including Rock, Jazz, R&B, Soul, Theater, and Classical/Opera.

    Lead aCapella group and small choir rehearsals and area performances

    May assist with prep for recording sessions through the school

    Prepare students for auditions, or vocal performances in shows.

    Be trained in our lessons program

    Keep internal lessons notes

    Prepare students for community performances and school performances

    May prepare students for competitions as BSMA rep, or for special auditions.

    WIll teach small groups and bands (group pay rate - may higher)

    Qualifications:

    Prefer Bachelor's degree in Music Education or related field

    Solid Piano skills

    Ability to create a warm, engaging, and encouraging music learning experience in 1-on-1

    Must pass background test, showing suitability to teach children

    Can work independently, and be directed at times.

    Excellent verbal and written communication skills

    Organized

    1+ years' experience teaching music to ages 5 to Adult.
