    Responsibilities

    Volunteer Management

    • Recruit, screen, and onboard new volunteers through community outreach, digital platforms, and local partnerships.

    • Develop and deliver orientation and ongoing training for volunteers to ensure they are well-prepared and supported.

    • Match volunteers with appropriate roles and responsibilities based on skills, interests, and program needs.

    • Maintain accurate records of volunteer hours, assignments, and performance using a volunteer management system.

    • Plan and execute volunteer appreciation events, recognition initiatives, and feedback surveys to foster engagement and retention.

    Program Support & Coordination

    • Collaborate with program staff to assess volunteer needs and develop roles that support service delivery.

    • Monitor volunteer activities to ensure quality service and compliance with organizational policies.

    • Resolve volunteer concerns and performance issues professionally and in a timely manner.

    • Regularly assess the effectiveness of the volunteer program and implement improvements as needed.

    Community Outreach & Engagement

    • Represent the organization at community events, fairs, and partner meetings to promote volunteer opportunities.

    • Develop outreach materials and work with the Communications team to create social media and newsletter content related to volunteer engagement.

    • Cultivate relationships with schools, civic groups, and other potential volunteer sources.

    Qualifications & Requirements

    Required:

    • Bachelor's degree in Human Services, Nonprofit Management, Communications, or a related field (or equivalent experience).

    • Minimum of 2 years of experience coordinating volunteers or managing community engagement in a nonprofit or social services setting.

    • Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to multitask and prioritize.

    • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills—both verbal and written.

    • Comfortable speaking to groups and leading trainings.

    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and experience with volunteer or donor management systems.

    • Must pass background and reference checks.

    Preferred:

    • Experience working with vulnerable populations such as seniors, individuals with disabilities, or veterans.

    • Bilingual or multilingual abilities.

    • Familiarity with platforms like VolunteerMatch, HandsOn Connect, or Salesforce.
