    The Job

At World Vision USA, we invite people to positively impact the lives of the world's most vulnerable children through charitable giving. Our recipe includes love of all people, thriftiness, and targeting the root causes of poverty to bring about human transformation and fullness of life. With us every 60 seconds a family gets water, a hungry child is fed, and a family gets the tools to overcome poverty. As the WASH Creative Fellow, your expertise will be brought to bear on work that is close to the heart of God (in the spirit of Matthew 25:34-40). Water, sanitation and hygiene (WASH) are at the heart of child well-being and foundational to World Vision’s mission for all children and their communities to experience life in all its fullness.

For more than 35 years, World Vision has been committed to stand in the gap, globally leveraging resources and locally working alongside communities to ensure millions of children around the world have access to clean water, dignified sanitation and healthy hygiene practices. However, there is much work left to be done. As our work enters a new decade with only 5 years remaining on the calendar to achieve the 2030 U.N. Sustainable Development Goals, World Vision must accelerate efforts. We are in the final year of a 5 year Global WASH Business Plan, outlining our commitment to invest $1 billion over the next five years to extend the impact of our work across 42 countries, and looking to lean into innovation – including advanced analytics – in our next 5 year strategy. Develop your skills, explore your interests, and build your international development experience by making a meaningful contribution in helping millions of people. We’re looking for a full-time, 2-year fellow to contribute to our storytelling. Bring your creative, tenacious character and interest in learning to our highly productive WASH team of 18 people that sits within our International Programs Group.

    Your Responsibilities Will Include:

    • Keep Christ central in individual and corporate life. Actively participate in and contribute to the spiritual disciplines of the organization (Christian conduct, chapel, prayer, worship, devotions, and leadership of devotions); incorporate WV Core Values into decisions within scope of role.
Carry out our Christian organization’s mission, vision, and strategies.
Personify the ministry of World Vision by witnessing to Christ and ministering to others through life, deed, word, and sign.

    • Creating dynamic visual content: You will work alongside WASH leaders and technical staff to create dynamic visual content that highlights the transformative impact of WASH programs, focusing on enhancing communication through visuals like videos, infographics, and other multimedia assets.

    • Enhancing Digital Storytelling: You will lead on the creation of visually engaging digital content that helps build relationships with a variety of stakeholders.

    • Supporting WASH Communication Strategy: You will contribute to WASH advocacy by offering creative support to broader WASH communication strategy efforts, using your multimedia skills to drive supporting visuals.

    • Streamlining Information-Gathering Processes: You will assist in building efficient systems to gather the necessary visual content from field teams, ensuring that footage, images, and data are collected and stored efficiently.

    • Learning from Experienced Leaders: You will engage in professional development, participating in mentorship with WASH and communications professionals.

    You Bring These Skills:

    • Interest in Visual Content Creation: You are eager to learn how to create impactful multimedia content, such as videos and infographics, that effectively communicate complex ideas.
    • Collaboration & Communication: You work well with others and are excited to explore how to transform ideas into engaging and easily understandable visuals for different audiences.
    • Basic Multimedia Skills: You have some experience with tools like Canva or Adobe Creative Suite and are willing to improve your skills to produce high-quality multimedia content.
    • Curiosity & Innovation: You are enthusiastic about experimenting with new approaches to storytelling and finding creative ways to represent the impact of WASH programs.
