Job Description: This position is remote and/or onsite, if applicable, at BMWIT’s onsite location in Portland, OR. The Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) or MSW works as a member of a multidisciplinary outpatient team to assess clients for risk, mental health and chemical dependency diagnoses, and treatment readiness while supporting a Trauma Informed Care environment. With the high prevalence of trauma among individuals receiving mental health services, it is required that the Licensed Clinical Social Worker or MSW understand the effects of trauma on health, coping, and other aspects of the lives of those we serve. Clinicians provide therapeutic mental health and addiction treatment to clients and complete client assessments, often in a community-based setting or virtually. The Licensed Clinical Social Worker (MSW) develops or assists in developing treatment plans tailored to each client’s needs. The clinician maintains documentation associated with client contacts, consultation, treatment strategies, tracking for referents, etc. The Clinician works with both.
Inside and outside of BMWIT to ensure that assigned clients receive the care and support necessary to reach treatment goals. All incumbents must understand, appreciate, and respect the diversity and cultural differences within our BMWIT community. BMWIT will be looking to offer benefits to eligible employees (full-time and part-time) after 90 days of employment. BMWIT's probationary period is nine (9)- months. Additionally, after the probationary period, staff will be given upfront personal days, vacation(PTO), and sick leave (STO) in addition to 11 paid holidays. There are six (6) weeks of training while you are on the job. Part of your onboarding/training involves hands-on training that involves learning our EHR clinical software and completing documentation. The goal is to have your schedule available. As a part-time employee with caseloads of 15-25 patients, seeing them once a week for 60-90-minute sessions if applicable. Some patients may need or request twice a week at a 45-minute session instead of a 90-minute session; this will be up to the provider and their patient to determine if twice a week is needed. Discuss with the CEO to ensure twice a week is adequate in your mandatory case management team meetings. This does not include intakes you will participate in assisting in conducting intakes for new patients. Essential Duties:

Management reserves the right to modify, add, or remove duties as necessary. ▪ Complete behavioral health assessments and treatment plans. ▪ Provide engagement services to clients utilizing strengths-based interventions and motivational interviewing concepts. ▪ Provide advocacy and case management services for clients, including assisting to secure housing, medical, and emergency services. ▪ Provide community-based services to clients’ residences and natural environments when clinically possible and appropriate, including educational settings. ▪ Coach clients in setting goals and identifying realistic steps towards achieving them. ▪ Assist families in developing and accessing natural community support. ▪ Serve Medicare clients ▪ Provide crisis intervention services to minimize or eliminate crisis and acute care utilization periods. ▪ Work directly with clients if hospitalized and actively collaborate with hospital personnel to plan for discharge. ▪ Provide individual and/or group therapy. ▪ Perform intake assessments for new clients and complete enrollment paperwork. ▪ Coordinate with site medical services to assist the client with accessing medication services. ▪ Complete and update notes on client progress after each client session and upload them to the system. (Notes may include but are not limited to intake and assessment, treatment plans, progress notes, case management, etc.) ▪ Respect and honor client rights and responsibilities and demonstrate professional boundaries and ethics. ▪ Document and maintain electronic health records (EHR) and ancillary records to ensure compliance with all agency policies, program procedures, and local, state, and federal regulations. Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation associated with billing, assessment, treatment, client’s progress, and other activities. ▪ Respect and honor client rights and responsibilities and demonstrate professional boundaries and ethics. ▪ Assist in crises as appropriate, following emergency protocols/procedures and coordinating with the treatment team with interventions that support a trauma-informed environment for clients and staff. ▪ Demonstrate responsibility for the safety of consumers, staff, and property; is familiar with fire regulations and evacuation procedures. ▪ Adhere to mandatory abuse reporting laws and HIPAA
Requirements. ▪ May serve as lead staff responsible for contacting the Administrator On-Call for clinical decisions and direction and providing leadership for needed decisions throughout a shift.
Preferred Qualifications:
A current unrestricted Licensed Clinical Social Worker credential in Oregon is required. (LCSW/LPC)
Qualifications:
Minimum Qualifications: ▪ Demonstrate competencies required to be credentialed as a Qualified Mental Health Professional and (Master’s level) ▪ Experience with chronic health conditions preferred ▪ Ability to conduct a Mental Status assessment and formulate a diagnosis according to the most current DSM ▪ Understanding of the recovery model, motivational interviewing, and illness management ▪ Thorough knowledge of evidence-based practices and strength-based case management philosophies and strategies ▪ Operate computer hardware and software at a level needed to perform job functions effectively ▪ Enter and retrieve data ▪ Prepare reports ▪ Possess a valid driver’s license, and insurance three-year driving history; a clean driving record, ability to pass a Driver Motor Vehicle (DMV) check. Employees must be approved to provide transportation utilizing agency vehicles so that residents may access the community.
Working Conditions:
Work may be performed virtually and in a community or clinic setting. Work is performed On Saturday, 8 AM – 6 PM. Daily routines may be hectic and will likely require the clinician to exhibit a considerable ability to be flexible. Meal periods and breaks are subject to interruption. Universal Precautions and remaining alert to the environment are critical to addressing the potential for violent behavior, exposure to disease, biohazards, noise, and contaminants. ▪ Mental Demands: The work assigned is diverse and involves addressing new and unusual circumstances in which outcomes may negatively affect costs, employee morale, or clients. The work regularly involves a degree of unpredictability and disruption of planned tasks, requiring a flexible time management approach. ▪ Physical Demands: Activities and structure support community integration, assisting residents in continued growth for successful independent living. Employees must be able to assist residents in participating in various activities, events, and excursions involving skills building and community integration. The employee must be approved to provide transportation using agency vehicles or own to support resident access to the community.
