WR is potentially seeking a Shipboard Installation Technician that will perform electronic systems and equipment installations on-board US Navy surface ships and submarines.
Position responsibilities will include, but are not limited to the following:
- Work requirements include routing, banding and terminating (connector fabrication) cables, installing and modifying equipment racks and the removal of existing systems and equipment which may include but not limited to the following:
- Navigation
- Interior and Exterior Communications
- Radar
- Sonar and Weapons Systems
Candidates must possess the following knowledge, skills, and experience:
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Six (6)+ years of experience required in a technical trade which can include electrical, electronics or information systems.
- AAS in electronics, apprenticeship in electronics or completion of military technical training (A and C School) a plus.
- Familiar with standard concepts, practices, tools, requirements and procedures within the field of either electronics , electrical or mechanical repair
- Previous Military experience in electronics, electrical or information systems field a required.
- Ability to work in an industrial shipboard/shipyard environment, climb ladders and wear all required safety equipment.
- Ability to read and interpret drawings a plus.
- Able to lift (up to 50lbs), carry and transport heavy equipment and materials required for the job.
- Able to receive direction from higher level technicians and complete tasking according to approved procedures and practices.
Preferred Certifications:
- OSHA 10 Hour Maritime and NAVSEA Cable-way and Connector a plus.
ABILITY TO OBTAIN AND MAINTAIN AN ACTIVE SECRET CLEARANCE.
