Job Description

We are seeking a highly motivated legal secretary to join our WVFO Chicago office. The candidate will be responsible for working with a team of attorneys and a paralegal at our Chicago office. This position is not available for individuals seeking full remote positions. Our office typically works remote on Fridays but requires in person presence Monday through Thursday. Recent college graduates are welcome to apply!

In addition to your salary, the firm provides medical insurance (dental + vision), and you are eligible to participate in the firm 401K after 1 year of service. Our office building provides a free gym available for use after 1 time payment of $50 to activate the access card.

QUALIFICATIONS: 

• Personal Injury law firm experience (Preferred - but not necessary);
• Legal experience (Preferred - but not necessary);
• Skills: communication skills, organizational skills, attention to detail, punctual and responsible, multi-tasker, strong teamwork and interpersonal skills; and
• Proficiency in technologies including but not limited to Adobe, Microsoft Word, Outlook, Excel, Dropbox, and E-filing (Odyssey).

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Phone/Client intake;
• Request medical records;
• Send out client and expert correspondence;
• Scheduling depositions;
• Issuing subpoenas and other court filings;
• Preparing deposition/trial binders;
• Organize and maintain physical and electronic files;
• Assist attorneys and paralegals in daily case related tasks;
• Assist attorneys and paralegals in trial preparation;
• General office/administrative duties; and
• Be physically present in office 4 days/week.

PAY:~$35,000 (Starting salary would be commensurate with the level of experience)
