WHAT IS AN ACADEMY? Academies provide first class training by a dedicated team of trainers, all of whom are experienced operators with extensive knowledge of One Best Way. Training is delivered in the classroom and on the sales floor, providing a hands-on learning experience for associates. Academies are equipped with the latest technology and current operations processes for associates to experience first-hand while training in the Academy. Academies ensure that associates leave the Academy confident and ready to execute One Best Way with excellence for our customers. Each Academy store earns its status through an extensive audit of One Best Way processes to ensure associates are able to learn what a good job looks like. Academies need to have the best people and the best standards in place to deliver the best training possible for our associates. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Provides customer service by acknowledging the customer; identifying customer needs; assisting with purchasing decisions; locating merchandise; resolving customer issues and concerns; promoting products and services; operating equipment, such as cash registers and related tools, to process customer purchases using appropriate procedures for different payment types and items sold; maintaining a safe shopping environment; and appropriately representing and supporting the company's mission.
• Supports store operations by executing daily workload and processes; modeling One Best Way (OBW) standards and procedures; participating in team meetings to learn daily and weekly objectives; communicating with team leads to understand daily priorities; assisting team leads as needed; serving as manager on duty when team lead is absent; demonstrating behaviors that help lead associates through change; and providing feedback concerning team associate performance, business area issues, or process improvement needs.
• Receives, stocks, and organizes merchandise and supplies from distribution centers and suppliers throughout the facility by managing inventory flow; following company policy and procedures for utilizing equipment appropriately; merchandising; working inventory exceptions; correcting shelf capacities; and completing and retaining required paperwork, logs, and other documentation.
