Job Summary:

The Warehouse floater will be expected to learn all delivery routes to cover deliveries when a driver is out. They will also assist the warehouse in retrieving stock to fill customer orders and organize items in the shipping isle for truck loading.

Duties/Responsibilities:

· Receives orders from the order desk and retrieves goods from warehouse locations to be loaded on trucks.

· Checks pick list for accuracy and inspects picked goods to confirm correct item(s).

· Delivers materials to loading area for truck loading and gives pick sheet back to warehouse manager to make any necessary order updates in computer system.

· Uses an order-picker or pallet jack to pull orders as needed.

· Follow safety rules for the warehouse when picking an order.

· Performs other related duties as assigned.

· Loads truck with orders scheduled for delivery.

· Delivers order to correct addresses, obtaining signatures and proof of receipt.

· Picks up orders along the scheduled route, including items to be returned, company orders, and other items as requested.

· Maintains basic records of truck mileage and deliveries made.

Required Skills/Abilities:

· Ability to operate several types of materials handling equipment including hand trucks, pallet jacks, standard forklifts, and order-picker forklifts when needed.

· Strong reading and communication skills.

· Must have great attention to detail to make sure correct items are pulled.

· Have some government contractor customers, so clean criminal record required for deliveries.

· Ability to drive safely. · Ability to use navigation tools such as GPS, smartphone apps, and/or web-based or physical maps.

· Ability to maintain basic logs and records.

· Ability to carry out a series of instructions without constant supervision.

· Able to remain professional and courteous at all times.

Education and Experience:

· High school diploma or equivalent required.

· Six months of experience in warehouse operations preferred.

Physical Requirements:

· Must be in good physical condition and have good motor skills.

· Must be able to lift 50 pounds at a time.

· Must have good hand/eye coordination.

· Must be able to load and unload packages with and without dollies in various types of weather.

Pre-Hire Requirements:
