An order picker or picker and packer is responsible for collecting products and orders from warehouses or shops for customers. Their duties include:
● Picking items: Using barcodes or serial numbers to find items on shelves or in rooms.
● Packing items: Securely shrink-wrapping items before placing them in boxes or envelopes for delivery.
● Preparing orders: Completing paperwork for the order and ensuring accuracy in order fulfillment.
● Maintaining inventory: Assisting with inventory movement and maintaining inventory records.
● May use material handling equipment like forklifts to load trucks for deliveries/pickups.
● May involve reaching, crouching, kneeling, stooping, climbing ladders, depth perception and color vision.
● Detail-oriented and able to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
● Be able to carry loads up to 50lbs on a regular basis.
● Be able to read and write English. *Bilingual in Spanish/English.
● Have working knowledge of basic math skills.
● Follows all Location Safety and Security Guidelines.
● Adheres to company policies and procedures; follows department training guidelines, best practices, and operating procedures.
● Ability to work a flexible schedule, including day, evening, weekends, and/or holidays.
● Flexible working capacity to work multiple departments.
